Have had this one for a while. Have had firmware updates, and it still goes out anywhere from every 1-3 days for 10-15 minutes.

Not sure why the TD for not a good price, $60 new for the latest version is a great price. Some people keep confusing the old AX21 with the solid plastic case instead of this redesign. The older version with the older case was prone to overheating in confined spaces or under heavy load so it was clearanced and sold to clear inventory for the redesign.

Would this be a good unit to pair up with an assigned modem from Spectrum for 500+ speeds? Live in a 1300ish sq ft house with 3 rooms.

I think it will update by itself but just in case make sure the firmware is updated.

It doesn't specify the range in sqt but it does say that it covers a 3 bedroom house. This should be compatible with your modem.

Try a factory data reset? Or see if you can install a custom firmware on it.

Factory reset has been attempted. And sure, I could, but let's be real if I have to go above and beyond than the software or device is faultier than I'd like it to be and definitely Moreso for the average consumer.

Range is relative depending on a lot of variables but in general yes it should handle that sq footage unless you got some major interference in the area.

Its been awhile since I playied in the TP-Link web page but I am pretty sure it has an option in there for it to schedule a reboot, setup the reboot daily for around 3 or 4am and see if your problem goes away.

I honestly have not heard to many people complain about this model, so you might have a dud, so maybe get it swapped?

How's this compare with a Netgear Nighthawk AX5400?

ETA: being used on 1 gigabit internet, and I can still return the Netgear for $109 back

How many devices do you have using wifi 6? For my house it's just my two phones and it's not any faster since I upgraded to the ax5400 from a r6000. Wifi 6 is supposed to be faster but it all gets choked by my 1 gig connection

Any 2.5 gigabit router from TP? I have 10gigabit fiber but can't even use half of it due to my TP router limitation.

I had two TP-link routers including this model and they both died in less than 6 months and got a warranty replacement for this model that was factory-refurbished. Unfortunately, the warranty replacement was dead upon arrival. I may be me but my personal experience is that TP-link routers are garbage. I have been staying far away from this brand as I can. Just for your information! I still have my proof of purchase.
