How's Kawai compared to Yamaha, Roland or Korg? I'm in the market for an 88-key digital piano with weighted keys for my daughter and still researching. Would appreciate any feedback.

Kawai is a respected brand. This is probably as good as it gets. It's clearance to make space for next model.

Yamaha and Kawai both make highly respected acoustic pianos.

The Shigeru Kawai SK-EX Concert Grand: $256,495

Can't go wrong with either.

Roland and Korg do not, AFAIK.

Key touch preference is personal but I prefer a company that makes real acoustic pianos if authentic feel is what you seek.

Roland and Korg feel artificially heavy to me.

How would this keybed compare to the keybed on the Studiologic 88 Grand? I know this is a digital piano console and the SL is a midi controller. Both would work for my bedroom studio setup considering I have the space but I work on my pc a lot and have Klipsch RP 500M II bookshelf speakers on my desk. I don't really need some of the other aspects of the console but am wondering if this keybed is close to the Kawai VPC1 possibly. I originally wanted the VPC1 by Kawai because of how good the keybed was regarded when doing research over the last week. I'm trying to learn the Piano and just bought the SL 88 Grand this week because it seemed like a more budget friendly version of the Kawai VPC1 ($1,400 less) even though it's certainly not cheap ($1,000). I still have 28 days to return it.
