This is an older model, and I believe the generation right before they included a webcam.

Got this when it dropped to this price a couple of weeks ago on SD. Haven't looked back even once! Actually shaved $100 off by grabbing a Geek squad certified one.

Blazing fast for me. I use an external monitor but the screen is still great. Very nicely doubles as a media PC and doesn't get hot when you keep the GPU from working.

Also, I replaced the SSD for a SK Hynix P31 2 TB. love the space and definitely noticed a performance boost.

Possible you had a non-IPS version of this laptop? Ghosting is not a thing on IPS panels. It's a VA thing.

That's not true at all. Many lower end ips displays have ghosting. This one is particularly bad, dont be fooled by the 144hz spec. And yes it was a ips display and was this exact model from best buy.

Bought and returned. Personally couldn't handle the heat and noise generated. Didn't feel comfortable installing the third party armory crate alternative. Got the Lenovo slim7 with the 3050 GPU. I'm much happier now, but wallet is crying.

How much could a webcam have cost? Not a critical feature but seems like a pointless omission. It's like buying a new car but needing to BYO radio antenna.

Depends on what you want. The m16 is bigger 16" vs 14", and about 1 pound heavier.
If you want a desktop replacement, then get the m16. But
if portability is important or you travel often, then get the G14.
