$705 with promo code found on page good until 7/14.

There's a reason they are offering so much off with that financing and it's not to give you a good deal.

So what is the actual end-user cost including all fees if you use the zip-pay loan feature?

By the way, original thread about this card with more details and discussion about "Why the price was not $599 at start" - well TSMC charges for VLSI chips have DOUBLED in the most recent (4nm vs. 8nm) generation and this is an ALL NEW architecture, ALL NEW software, ALL NEW chiplets GPU (never been done before! Spock said it's only a theory!)

The entire point of switching to a chiplet design was to drastically reduce cost, as the majority of the die no longer needs to be made on TSMCs 5nm node. Only the GCD is built on 5nm. The MCDs, that make up the majority of the die, are built on the much cheaper 6nm. AMDs die cost is MUCH lower than Nvidia's, since the die are much smaller and mostly on a cheaper node. The only reason they're as expensive as they are is because of how overpriced Nvidia's 40 series is. People forget that AMD is a corporation just like the rest of them and isn't going to sacrifice shareholder profits when they can overcharge in an overpriced market. By law, corporations have to base every decision they make on shareholder profits. Whether selling their cards at a more reasonable price would've helped sales is up for debate. In the past when AMD priced their cards much more competitively than Nvidia it didn't help. Nvidia just lowered their prices to match and people still bought Nvidia. It just lowered profits for both corporations. People like to choose sides like it's the console wars, but in the end neither is there to look out for the consumer. They're corporations that value profits above all else.

The chiplets would only reduce cost if they stayed with the 8nm technology of the 3000/6000 series generation. However, they went to use 6nm and 5nm technology and the costs of each new node near the end of Moore's law is THROUGH THE ROOF. The size of the chips hasn't really decreased despite the move to 5nm/6nm so the chips are much larger with many more ALU's than the 3000/6000 series. So your argument ignores the fact that Samsung was likely LOSING Money on 8nm because it was the first time they wanted to be a foundry for GPUs. Because of the competition TSMC was keeping prices low and finally now can pass on HUGE price hikes to AMD & consumers because Samsung is behind TSMC. With the price hikes TSMC can build the next Feb because Moore's law is ending ... So your blame is misplaced. AMD cannot control Samsung & TSMC.

Yup, this is why I bought a $200 Intel Arc A750 for my GF's PC. She does moderate amounts of gaming, the card is extremely competitive with a 6600XT with the new drivers while having more features, and at the end of the day I am supporting a third company, so we dont have to deal with the Nvidia+AMD duopoly that milks consumers for as much as possible as there was no alternative.
