Should I wait for a deal on the Professional 750 or go with this? RTINGS shows the two are identical, however not sure what the user experience/consensus here is as the Propel 750 is a newer model.

Pro 750 has a metal frame. It weighs 13.6 pounds according to W-Sonoma. . Propel weighs 10 lbs according to one source. Propel strikes me as cost reduced like the plastic frame Explorian. One reviewer claims that Propel is much louder than Pro 750. Compare them side by side.

rtings shows the little video of the c weighted sound at around 98db max on both. Maybe it is noisier that other frequencies but doesn't seem far off from the pro 750.
and for the note below with the Costco e520, different features. The 750 has more presets etc.
the propel series does have the look of cost cutting since no stainless, but with a 7 year warranty I'm willing to take the chance. The few YouTube videos from a couple reviewers seem okay with the propel series. And the propel beaker unit is labeled for dishwasher use (unlike the pro series), so if it fails should assumedly be okay for warranty if the beaker or blade wears away.
fingers crossed for $400.

Bummed I missed out on the 5200 deal yesterday, but this looks like the best deal at the moment, no?

Presets are pretty game changing. My wife uses them most of the time since we don't have a PhD in blender techniques. So the 5200 is quite a different experience. They all (Vitamix blenders) get to the same end game with proper operation, but for us lazy folks those presets are the way to go.

Isn't this the Costco price? I'd rather go to Costco for one when they are there... longer return times anyway.

I checked Costco and don't see this specific model. You may be referring to the 7500 model for $429? If so that is a classic model without the five pre-set program settings (smoothie, hot soup, frozen desserts, dips & spreads, and self-cleaning). The Propel 750 looks to be $60 more than the 7500 on the Vitamix website.

The 750 is better. It has the 5 program settings, pulse feature, better motor (2.2 hp vs 2.0 max), low profile container, dishwasher safe.

The more I learn about it the more I'm happy I went with this model. I'm surprised this isn't getting more love here.

personal preference. We value dB sound volume and simple presets. Ended up springing the extra $130 for the A3500 model with 10 year warranty and about 6-8 dB quieter sound. $530 is a lot for a blender but Vitamix seems to stand behind their product. They swapped out the blade and container all for free for our prior unit when they recalled due to some black bits or something like that with the blade. Willing to pay a little more for great service.

Looks like this is OOS, but the 750 professional is now the same price. Not sure if I should switch to that instead.

It's fairly common these days for manufacturers to add "features" on cost-reduced models especially when appearance is all the the average consumer has to go by. Weight of the product is one indicator of what is under the shell. Note that on its site Vitamix has a scarcity of technical information. No weight is listed. When Vitamix introduced the G series ( 7500 ) in the early 2000's there was quite a bit of PR released about qhat they had done technically to improve it over the 5200. The motor and the case were redesigned to improve cooling and reduce overheating. At the same time noise was reduced and the controls were improved to make operation more user-friendly.

I dug deeper in an attempt to resolve inconsistencies on the Vitamix site. I was lucky to connect to a well informed tech at the company. First it was over confusion about container compatibility. " All of our containers are now dishwasher safe he said." "We improved the bearings and seals." It's company policy not to say that self detect or commercial containers may be used on G series. No technical reason. Similarly Vitamix does not want to retail customers changing out blade assemblies and does not make parts available to them. The commercial side of the business is kept separate. Commercial customers may purchase parts and routinely change out container and blade assemblies. It is very easy to do.

Specs change. Manufacturers change suppliers. A model number may not change but what is inside does. Numbers are deceiving especially when it comes to decibels. I had to use over-the-head hearing protection with a new 7500 but never with my original early model 7500 which I still have. When I got my hands on an Explorian E320 last year I had a strong desire run over it with my tractor. The pitch was irritating to the extreme. But this is a story of three individual units. I have not had my hands on a Propel. Vitamix has a scarcity of technical information posted about Propel. It does not list the weight.

When the G series ( 7500 ) aka Next Generation was introduced in the early 2000 Vitamix explained what they did to improve the 5200. Cooling was improved to reduce thermal shut down. The case was redesigned to reduce noise. They introduced a new motor. These days they don't discuss technical changes. Opening the unit voids the warranty. Consumers are price sensitive. No matter which\ Vitamix you buy you are getting a powerful reliable blender backed by the best warranty and customer service.

Presets may not be important to me but they are to others. Side by side comparison in one's home is the only way to compare models and containers. Don't be afraid to buy two with the intention of returning one. The return policies are generous. There is no one size fits all for containers tall or short or for motor bases. Trying to decide which model to buy based on internet noise is not helpful. Deficiencies reported by consumers are traceable to improper use. I'm willing to pay a bit more for extra years on the warranty and for what I perceive to be a smoother running machine which is easier on my ears. Not everyone uses their blender on a daily basis. These are personal preferences.

this is a super helpful post, thank you for taking the time and effort to outline.
With tHe pro 750 reducing to $400 vs $530 for the slightly quieter a3500 at $530, it is a close decision. The updated price and solid track record of that pro 750 is tough to ignore. Should be a win win either way, just a little torn on the electronic display, but 10 yr warranty is there so makes it a really close call.
