Phones are easily lost or stolen. If you don't care about all the personal data in your phone being compromised, no worries.
Currently 8 months into my 6a, couple of issues, fingerprint reader is crap, less than 50% accuracy, phone gets hot easily and will throttle, battery life is only enough to last through half the day if you travel on the road alot
Nearly everybody should absolutely have a lock of some kind, as phones can be lost or stolen. Considering the fact that having someone's phone often gives you access to bank accounts, credit accounts and identity, pretty much everything you have from house title to retirement savings to car is potentially at risk. Even if you don't have bank apps, having your phone number gives them an easy pass to get around 2FA, which coupled with a little more information (possible gleaned from your phone) might be enough to still get access to bank accounts, etc.

Good, and well placed (like the old pixel where it's on the back) fingerprint readers are much faster. If I pull my phone out of my pocket it's on and unlocked by the time my eyes see it. Very convenient.

Google is offering decent trade-in values Pixel phones towards the 7a, 7, and 7 pro:

I "upgraded" from a Pixel 3A to the Pixel 6A. Feels like a downgrade.

Fingerprint reader, camera...

How can google release worse products than years ago?

i like pin better and its less hassle to me. i dont like how tech reviews spend so much time on the fingerprint reader. i've never used one.

also banks and stuff still need your password. granted the phone autofill that somehow at least mine does.

honestly for a long time i had no lock on my phone. only recently i put a pin. maybe people worried about their bf/gf is my real guess lol.

this phone seems good, first real challenger to one plus at the low end imo, even in many cases better. only a 6.1 display though, a bit small depending your preference.
i use the us bank app.. it uses finger print..

why do people use fingerprint readers, weird to me. mostly you dont need any lock on your phone since it doesnt leave your person. but if you do just use 4 digit pin at least as fast as print and more secure

There are a lot of apps that let you log in with your fingerprint now which is so much faster than a username and password.

I concur with this, only thing I'd add is the GPS accuracy isn't nearly as good as my 4a 5g was.

yeah, trading in my 3a for the 6a was a major regret.
I wouldn't 'upgrade' the 3a for a Pixel past the 4a.
