I bought AXE5400 3 pack during black Friday. Man, i can't believe how fast and efficient it is. I am getting about 800+ Mbps on average all around the house. I also have 70 devices connected to the network at all times.

Only complaint is the Deco app they provided only provided half the functions. The additional features (parent control, additional security, etc.) cost extra.

These are really good deals. I say that because I was eyeing refurbished ones for somewhere around $179.99 or so. You are getting brand new plus if you use Amazon card its additional 10% back is what I noticed before I pulled the trigger on AXE5400 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 6E Mesh System, 2.5G Port, Up to 5,500 Sq. Ft. (Deco XE75 Pro 2-Pack) [amazon.com] $229.99

There is $20 difference between Deco XE75 2-Pack vs Deco XE75 Pro 2-Pack but I went with Pro just in case even though 2.5GB Port is the only difference between the two as per online research in case anyone was wondering.

Mesh:
AX3000 Mesh Wi-Fi 6 System, Up to 6,500 Sq. Ft. Coverage (Deco X55 3-Pack) [amazon.com] $179.99
AXE5400 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 6E Mesh System, 2.5G Port, Up to 5,500 Sq. Ft. (Deco XE75 Pro 2-Pack) [amazon.com] $229.99
AXE5400 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 6E Mesh System, 2.5G Port, Up to 2,900 Sq. Ft. (Deco XE75 Pro 1-Pack) [amazon.com] $119.99
AXE5400 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 6E Mesh System, Up to 5,500 Sq. Ft. (Deco XE75 2-Pack) [amazon.com] $209.99

I got the AXE5300 refurbished units from Ebay for $180 from the last time. I ended up returning them back though upon realizing that I had to pay a subscription fee for their HomeShield Pro service. I got myself Asus mesh wifi units (a bit more expensive than Decos) that come with free protection software that does not require subscription fees

FYI, it looks like TP-Link has been refreshing their model lineup and "remastering" existing models. For example, they just recently dropped the Pro version of the X55's. In the specs the only difference I see are the X55's have Gigabit ports whereas the new X55 Pro has 2.5Gbps ports. So take that info as you will if you're considering going multigig anytime soon.

I have the X55 originally bought last black Friday 2-pack. I don't have that big of an apartment but ended up buying the 3rd satellite because of how saturated my channels are from neighbors which has helped with spotty Ring devices.

I was eyeing a similar axe5400 refurb for sometime, ebay had 2 pack XE 75 for like 178.99. I am assuming you got one unit only on ebay. If that's the case, buy 1 unit from amazon and you will end up 2 units, 1 from ebay and 1 from amazon. That should give you more/extend coverage.
I got the 3 pack from ebay for 180. I would like 2 more units or even 3. That way I could cover my barn. And more of my property. I'm on 4 acres

A dumb switch cost 20 bucks. I have one at the base and then all my hard wired connections go there.
Absolutely agree. I have done the same thing. The DECO is amazing! Tried Eero first, but they only had the one Ethernet port for incoming and that's it. Silly design if you ask me. The DECO had exactly what I was looking for.

Bought the x55 yesterday for $10 more and Amazon won't price adjust. Ended up buying the axe5300 from Costco for a bit more. Rather have more streams, antennas and extra band to use with wired back haul anyways.

Great deal for the x55 though if you have sub gig speeds, but only if you do wired back haul.

Finally I've been waiting for a decent system for a long time, netgear $300 Mesh I got has been driving me crazy.

Can you confirm you can add mesh and it will extend or do they all have to connect back to router? Also to add 3rd and 4th, can i just buy individual mesh satellites?

I have gigabit fiber from optimum, I assume these will play nice with optimum router/modem combo?

I have the older TP-Link Deco M9 Plus Mesh routers. We have a MacBook, an iPad, and iPhones and everything has worked flawlessly. Not sure if there are some routers that don't play nice with apple devices… but my slightly older ones have worked great for all devices!

Basic question: When would I need a Mesh, and when would I need a Range Extender?

I currently get excellent Wi-Fi in most areas of my house, but I have a couple of areas that are weak.

You can add more mesh units to the main unit. I have 1 of them connected by hard wire but 1 also connected by wifi. They use a delicate channel for the mesh units.
