These any good? My current decos are a pain in the as they don't allow me to walk from the front of the house to the back of the house without dropping the signal and then having to reconnect the next Deco.

Maybe this is how they work and I was expecting a more seamless handoff without any interruptions in service?

Im on the fence with these and the AXE5300 (Costco version of AXE5400) as these are now $95 then refurb AXE53000 ($220)
Major differences i can see are:
-no WiFi 6e (which as i only have 2 phones only that can use it, i dont care about)
-2 high gain antennas v's 4 in the 5300's ... which apparently do better going through walls.

Any suggestions/insights ?

The X55 are also only dual-band, so if you want to use wireless to pair them the 2nd band will be shared. The 5400 is tri-band, so it has a dedicated backhaul channel. I'm planning on getting that one if it ever gets better than the current amazon price of $289.

I'm also curious. Looking to upgrade to a mesh setup but am reading lots of reviews on Decos that people are having issues with connections dropping and Smart devices unable to connect reliably.

good point.
However i have a wired network, so would be using the backhaul on the wired network, not wireless. but great point for anyone who needs or cant do that !

About $125 worth good.
I made the mistake, I think I paid more than this, I don't really like it. The wireless backhaul is horrible, coverage is horrible if you are in an older house (thicker walls, better material). I put one POE access point in my backyard, even in wide open area the signal is not reliable.

I would look for something beefier, not $125 for 3. Or if you do, definitely wired backhaul!

There are so many threads on this, yet every time we have to go over same things. Not just you, me too, I ask same questions but it's better to search old posts/deals and get more information. SD should really bundle these together but I guess it will hurt the sales...

I'm about to throw my X55s in the trash. Constant issues. Add a device….network drops. Connect to VPN…. Network drops. All this in the last few months. Having issues just about every other day even with all mesh devices wired together. Other devices wired directly to them not connecting to the internet.
The only devices that remain connected happen to be TP-link smart plugs.
