I have older versions of this camera, their app is pretty bad, not much options on setting, you cannot even schedule when to turn it on or off. For this price, it is pretty good deal for entry level if you don't request much.

Looks like tagging a USB stick and files on your network is more complicated than it was before all these Win 11 updates. One drive might be the easiest solution as I cannot get the paste function to work in FILES for IOS with the USB tagged.

What am I missing about these cameras that people actually like?

The included hub is not ideal if you already have a decent home network. All it does is add another device that requires power and an extra failure point in the system. If it's required, that's even more of an issue.

The lack of RTSP puts it in the same ballpark of limited flexibility and reliability that Blink, Ring, etc are in.

I can't speak to sensor quality, but 3MP is definitely on the low end when we're talking about up to date home security and even dash cams.

If cost is an issue, why not Wyze?

I've had this system for about a year, it supports four cameras and easy to recharge and I get a for real half year out of a charge and simply use the charging brick go outside and charge the cameras. Supports up to four this is a nice cheap way to add two more.
Where do you find the addition cameras for purchase? I've searched Amazon

I bought these in the last deal for ~$80 and have been pretty happy with them, but I'm not using any advanced features. Range and battery life have been decent. In for another set to get the max 4 cameras.

Be weary of these cheaper models, I bought a vava home cam set and it was great until the company refused to update the iOS app making the entire camera system useless, if you need a cheaper camera system it's best to go with an older eufy model

Garbage cam for continous recording. If you need the occassional deterence buy it or else spend money for 24/7 recording its about security!. I wont buy this other then a decoy.
What Tony the Tiger says about cameras. "They're Gr-r-reat" to record the time your car got broken into or to record the time burglars broke into you house and took your stuff. But cameras do allow one to see and record other events for a sense of security.

I think the deal might be over because the link doesn't have a buying option for me and code won't work.

Thanks God deal is dead now. Stopped my cognitive dissonance of not desperately buying something I do not desperately need 😄

That's an interesting idea. There's a location near the edge of my property that I've thought about putting a camera, but it would need to be installed somewhat securely to prevent tampering and that would make grabbing it for charging a bit of a hassle. I've considered hooking up a battery pack with solar panel to other small security cameras, but given that this one already has a built in battery, just a solar panel with USB output may be all that's needed. A quick glance at Amazon came up with these …

https://www.amazon.com/Waterproof...YW7EMXOQIL

https://www.amazon.com/FlexEnergy...9idGY&th=1

(Just for reference on that type of product. I haven't done any real comparison with other options, nor do I know anything about those particular models.) Would be curious if anyone has used something like that.

yes, you can. I am using solar to power it , there was some small solar panels deal for under $10 which has output 5V USB port that is perfect for it.
but there could be potential water leak risk for a opening connection from the bottom charging port, need some seal to prevent the issue

We have to buy two solar panels for two above camera's! Am I correct?
