- Get additional $50 off using this pre-order code
- Ask Samsung Chat for a $50 discount code (a unique code that could stack with the pre-order reserve code but seems to have trouble stacking for some people).
- Get additional discounts for education, government, military, business, first responders employees without actually being one by going through Google or just clicking on one of the categories (they don't verify but give you the discount)
Same here not just this time but for the past several years.
Never verified an Educ ID, or asked to.
Used the Educ discount on a few accounts with different email providers, Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo mail.
Sometimes the Educ discount will not appear but it appeared after adding a phone to the cart, like the Flip 5 this time, and others in the past.
Sometimes there'll be a drop down with boxes to check the appropriate discount, Educ, Military, etc., but most times the Educ discount will appear.
Sometimes it helps to click on the bottom of the page on the offers links:

Samsung Rewards
Referral Program
Student & Education Offer Program
It looks not as much as a glitch but as something intentional for the order/sale to go through. - If your birthday is in August and you had it saved in your Samsung profile, you should have gotten or will get an e-mail with an extra $25 off discount which can stack with the above codes
- Add the Samsung Watch 6 separately into the cart and not as a bundle with the phone to get an extra fabric band for free.

It should price $1200, with $800 trade-in, should come out between $400-$500 to be honest.
My Friend who works in Samsung, has been using both Flip and Fold for more than a year and it is not really not that great.

It sounds like you get a huge discount (trade in) for your old 2-3 years phone, but in reality you have to pay on top of it $400-500.
I have Flip 4 from last year, i like the phone, but folding screen is not that stable and after 1 year i got scratches. I would love to trade in for S23 but even with trade in, i have to pay atleast $350-400 + tax. And Flip 4 is more expensive (999) vs 799.
1. Z Fold 5 - 512GB with S22U trade in + Watch 6 classic 47mm + 1 camel T band + fabric band. All discount and 12%CB, total is $746
2. Verizon Z Fold 5 - 512GB thru Samsung website with Z Fold 3 trade in + 2x Buds2 Pro + 2x Watch 6 classic 47mm + 1 camel D band + 1 indigo D band + 2x fabric band. All discount and 12%CB, total is $968
The second one is better...

As far as Flip is concerned, that's not really my cup of tea, it literally looks like a powder makeup kit more suitable for ladies I guess.

Are they just charging $99 for the pre-activation? Any issue if I go with the first trade-in and activate once the phone arrives?
You can get an AARP annual membership for around $10. Plus, you can become a member no matter what age you are. I very helpful ATT rep gave me this info before I upgraded 3 phones on my family plan.
