2000 lumens is good for dark rooms. Washed out if lights are on, even if dimmed. You want 3500+ for rooms with light.

Yes, 3LCD was a must for me too in order to eliminate RBE. I also bought a 4400 lumen pj so we can watch outside before it gets totally dark out

Can you recommend a good projector that's 3LCD and brighter like you mentioned? I'm looking to upgrade my Optoma HD26. Thank you!

It's all pixel shift at this price but it doesn't really matter too much for image quality.

Yes, but that's not the actual DLP resolution. It uses pixel shift to get that native resolution. Here's a quote from a review of this specific projector:

> This projector offers UHD resolution of 3840x2160 via use of the Texas Instruments DLP 0.47-inch XPR (Expanded Pixel Resolution) chipset to produce 8.3 million discrete pixels. This chipset takes a DMD with native 1920x1080 resolution and applies a four-phase pixel shift to reproduce the full 3840x2160 resolution in each frame of UHD video. So, while it's technically not a true native 4K projector, with all else being equal the 4K images produced by this projector are essentially indistinguishable from a native 4K image in typical viewing conditions.

I dont think with the native eye with good screen in front , you cant notice the difference. Well using Texas Instruments DLP 0.47-inch XPR is much better for this price. I have been using it for a year and this is fantastic even in white wall.

Thoughts on how I can connect a soundbar without running a wire behind walls. Currently using BT audio while I look to upgrade to a proper discrete audio setup. But bluetooth requires me to connect everytime i.e. it does not auto connect to the last BT setting

I bought this a few months ago. No complaints for the costs so far. I have a complete dark movie room and picture is fantastic. I will soon be mounting it on the ceiling so hope I don't lose any performance. Highly recommend

I had this projector for a few months but sold it mainly because the HDR brightness was so inconsistent (either too bright or too dark) and was not adjustable beyond a dynamic tone mapping on/off setting. That was about 9 months ago, so hopefully they've fixed it with a firmware update.

So much streaming content is 4K HDR now, and sometimes 4K SDR isn't even offered (Disney+), that I felt like HDR tone mapping / brightness was very important, especially for a projector where you're getting maybe 50-100 nits of brightness on the screen instead of 500-1000 nits on a TV. I ended up going with a BenQ 4K projector because BenQ really seems to know what they're doing with projectors+HDR.

Is this pixel shift or native 4k?
Pixel shift. For native 4k, you have to spend $5k+. Cheapest option I've seen is Sony:
