Ever since this this brand popup Samsung and Micron factories and warehouses no longer catch fire, I guess their sprinkler systems finally starts working, what a coincidence.

On some other of the many NVME/SSD threads someone meant to post

Hold the line. (with the assumption of more price drops)

But typed

Hold the Lime!
thanks

I wonder if a large transfer on this one still would keep up with or exceed a CMR HD drive vs an SMR HDD on which they crawl.
Depends on the type of transfer. For large sequential writes, a CMR (or even SMR) HD will easily outpace these cheap SSDs. Large hard drives tend to start out around 250MB/s and drop to around 150MB/s by the end of the drive. The pSLC cache on these SSDs (which could be anywhere from a few GB to a quarter of the drive's capacity) will probably write at around 400-500MB/s. Once filled, expect the performance to drop to somewhere in the ballpark of 6-80MB/s. The only QLC drive I've tested averaged <40MB/s after filling the pSLC cache.

Quote from FormerAstronut :
QX is their naming convention to confuse consumers. That said this drive is QLC, but they try to hide the fact by sparkling you with terms like "3d NAND" which is meaningless since all TLC, QLC is "3D NAND". SLC is not going to happen in a consumer drive anymore, the cost for what you get makes it impractical, at most you'll get part of your cache as SLC, which doesn't say much
3D NAND is mostly meaningless, NOW. However, planar (2D) TLC did exist and was supposedly garbage, possibly even worse than modern QLC.

Which is better the SP one or team group
I wouldn't be surprised if they were the exact same drive.

Mine doesn't record 24x7, just motion activated. Also, the size that my cam system can support is 2.5" drives. And I don't find a lot of options that are significantly cheaper than SSDs. Any recommendations?
Get a better security camera recording system

That's just terrible design

Something like this could work as long as you backup anything important so it doesn't write over itself... Baba bam

does this make sense as the external drive for xbox x? you can buy 8 tb drives from amazon for 90 bucks. there are platter drives and have their own power supply, which generates extra heat. this will shut on and off with the xbox. do the transfer speeds make much of a difference? you should be able to play non X optamized games off of both?

One of the best alternative companies out there that's not Samsung, SK Hynix or Micron that are gouging you to death with high SSD prices for the past decade.
Team group sources memory component from the companies you listed above. As someone that works at Micron, you get what you pay for.

Ask this question. Does this item solve a problem I have? If it does, then don't wait. If it doesn't, wait.

IDK, haven't purchased either yet.
I've purchased from both, and I thought sp was a little better. However that could easily vary by specific model.
