Moto G Stylus 5G (2021) has better camera system with a useful 8-megapixel UW len but will no longer be updated beyond Android 12.

Galaxy A14 is shipped on Android 13 and with guaranteed upgrade to Android 15! It has NFC.

My A14 has the message fingerprint sensor not working. And it's been that way for months haven't been able to get it resolved. Not sure if this is frequent.

Quick question. With such small mins, text, and data? What do people use this for? Just to get the phone or is it just a back up to keep somewhere like a car?
You do realize TF is pay as you go?
If you run out you just buy more of what you need when you need it - so it's perfect for people that don't need high-priced unlimited service.

Tracphone seems to be a lousy service. Does anyone know if this phone would be compatible with Mint Mobile (after unlocking)? I Thought that Verizon Tracphone uses an incompatible network.
After getting a couple of raspberrys, I checked out Tracfone's website. This phone is set up for CDMA which is a dying standard only used by a handful of carriers. AFAIK even after unlocking, this phone won't be compatible with AT&T, T-Mobile and their affiliates.

It uses LTE like most recent phones.
It's up to the carrier which models work with their service - ATT is known to be more restrictive.
After unlocking this likely will work with TMo since most other unlocked TF do.

Public Service Announcement:

I have been a Tracfone customer for well over 10 years. Every year I go out and buy a 1 year service + 1500 minutes + 1500 texts + 1.5gb data refill card from E-bay. I have been doing this for years without issues. This time it appears that the E-bay seller used stolen credit card numbers to purchase my phone refills. A couple of days after getting the refills and after leaving positive feedback my phones starting deactivating and the accounts were suspended. Contacting customer service is the WORST!!!! They were unable to do anything. I attempted to email corporate with proof that I had purchased the refills off of Ebay and my PayPal refund requests. No response from corporate and the accounts are still locked. I had 4 phones and two of them got locked. The suspended phones can not be unlocked (I failed to unlock the phones after the 60 days passed as I had no intentions of leaving Tracfone) and the phone numbers can not transfer to my new service provider because of the suspension status. I quickly unlocked and transferred the other two phones before they become suspended as well.

I didn't think that CDMA phones can work with GSM networks.

I looked up LTE and see it's only used for data and not voice or texts.

CDMA is old school technology, phones have been LTE for awhile & most recent phones (if unlocked) can work on either Verizon or TMo/ATT.

Its 12 Months

For Customers with non-Apple devices: TracFone will provide an unlocking code to customers who request unlocking, provided they meet the following conditions:
If the TracFone device was activated with TracFone service prior to November 23, 2021, then the device must have been active on TracFone Service for no fewer than twelve (12) months with Service Plans redeemed in no fewer than twelve (12) months.
If the TracFone device was activated with new service on the Verizon network on or after November 23, 2021, then at least sixty (60) days must have elapsed since the device was activated.
The device must be in working condition.
The device has not been reported stolen or lost, and there are no indicators of fraud
No, it's 60 days. I've unlocked more than 6 phones over the last year.

Most phones use VoLTE (Voice over LTE) for voice calls. Not sure about texts, but those probably work over LTE as well.

Carriers are also working on Voice over 5G as well so that they can refarm their spectrum and eventually kill off LTE, same as they did for 3G.

That's what I use it for. Some people probably also use them as burners.

Need some help, I just got a tracfone (the cheap flip phones). Can I get this phone and just add in my current SIM card and use this phone instead of the old flip phone? Plug and play? Thx
Not recommended. You should activate this new phone and choose to keep your number. All the service from the flip will be added to the new phone and the flip will be deactivated.
