The first-gen SE is still holding up really well for me, apart from not having EKG and always-on screen, it compares really well with the series 7 and 8 my friends and family have.

A steal at this price. This is about the "floor" that Apple Watches hit before being discontinued.

I have 2 of these for my 2 younger kids (10 and 6). Very handy and perfectly "limited" for safety and basic communication. $10/month on Tmobile as an addon device w/their own phone numbers.

FWIW, I had the idea to use one and connect it to one of those home wireless handset phones that have bluetooth connectivity specifically to tether a mobile phone, since apple watches have bluetooth. Connected fine, but in the end wasn't practical because everytime you try and place a call from the handset, a prompt appears on the apple watch to make the call, so kinda impractical.

Was hoping I could just use my 6 year olds apple watch as a home "land line" 90% of the time since she doesn't need to wear it all the time.
