I'm guessing you just prefer having a soundbar and everything sounds 'amazing'?

Over the last several years (especially during Covid) we slowly upgraded our home system. Nothing like piecing together a system and having a receiver that can handle it all.

Yes, Onkyo has app. I had the NR6050 and sold it. The center vocals just was a little behind Yammy.

I jumped out on it, currently running and might return an Onkyo RZ 50. Big issue with RZ 50, assigning amps is a pain unless you're just doing rears. Hopefully the sound is better- I know the build quality will be awesome with Yamaha.
I had an Onkyo flagship (txnr906) back in the day. Hdmi fried as they all did, known issue they never fixed. I'd assume they changed that now. I'll never buy onkyo again. Went to a denon mid range which i still have, it's decent, but I have a Yamaha 3060 for my media room. It's the best one Ive had so far. Specs for price, you can't go wrong on my opinion. My friend sold his Marantz and picked up a Yamaha after checking out mine.

You will be happy you swapped out the onkyo. I'm thinking of grabbing this, to replace my rxa3060

I tried both them out keep the Yamaha. The built quality is way better sound is better more richer just an all around better receiver. Forgot to mention the app for your phone it controls everything remote would do and some more. Applause
Question, we're you happy with it out the box with YPAO or did you get in a weeds with it (REW etc)? I think it'll be better with tinkering - but just wanted your impressions

so far best price posted here for the flagship Aventage RX-A8A was 06/10-06/23 on Amazon for $2250. Hoping Adomara eventually does a sale as well

This is the third time the RX-A6A has gone for $1400 not sure if the A8A will ever go on sale at Adomara

Based on my first hand experience measuring FR with REW and reviewing REW results, YPAO, at least the earlier versions when compared to D&M's Audyssey MultEQ XT32, performs poorly below 80Hz. I would say that external bass management (miniDSP 2x4HD) is still required in dialing in your sub(s).

Upgraded from. Rx-v4a to this. Same price. Sound much better.

RX-V4A had bur brown DAC, pretty good but ESS DAC in this receiver sound a lot better.

I paired them with B&W 702s tower bi-amp, rear kef q150, center klipsch rp-440c, atomos klipsch 140sa with 2 subwoofer. It drives all the speakers no problem and gets loud where your neighbors will hate you lol

Definitely recommend.

Only downside for me is tidal MQA full unfold. I think it's license issue where they only go upto flac 44.1 kHz even though DAC can handle it.
to anyone: Where is this RX-A6A's country of manufacture?

I have a NR 808. Still runs fine. Onkyo filed for bankruptcy a couple years earlier.

I am. Just blows my mind how many people think soundbars are the end all of home audio.

I'm still using a rx-a2050. Still going strong. I like the idea of an upgrade but don't think there is anything that really makes it out dated for my purposes.
The only significant improvement is if you want to game through your receiver and need the 4K@120. Other than that there's little reason.

Same here, still using a 4-5 year old Yamaha RX-A770 (95w per channel , Atmos, etc) that I got new for $360, and there is absolutely no reason to pay the ludicrous inflated prices of the newest AVRs.
