Over the last several years (especially during Covid) we slowly upgraded our home system. Nothing like piecing together a system and having a receiver that can handle it all.

Malaysia
However..it is built in a Yamaha factory..unlike say the non Japan made Denon/Marantz products that are made by a third party
I'd recommend any objective tester over him, Ripe Wave Audio, Erin's Audio Corner, Amir at ASR, Audioholics or even Cheap Audio Man (who's not objective- but I believe him).
My alternate reason for getting this Yamaha is resale values - which you can see from EBay.
RX-V4A had bur brown DAC, pretty good but ESS DAC in this receiver sound a lot better.
I paired them with B&W 702s tower bi-amp, rear kef q150, center klipsch rp-440c, atomos klipsch 140sa with 2 subwoofer. It drives all the speakers no problem and gets loud where your neighbors will hate you lol
Definitely recommend.
Only downside for me is tidal MQA full unfold. I think it's license issue where they only go upto flac 44.1 kHz even though DAC can handle it.
I'm upgrading to some KEF r3's and r6c in a 5.1 system and wondering if it might be good to have the extra power to drive those.
It seems like besides power output and more channel support, there's not many other reasons to upgrade.

If it's power your after, you could just add an external amp which would be much less expensive especially if you go used.
Since you only need 5 channels you can also look for a slightly older used receiver that will be a higher tier one.

If you use an external amp, power may not be a big benefit.
As far as room correction, IMO Audyssey's XT32 performs much better especially if you use their Editor App.
Denon also gives you the option to get Dirac Live RC.
Come next year Denon will give you the option to the other half of Dirac…DLBC RC.
Often Dirac is considered a level up from these other RC's.
So you often find people choosing Onkyo/Pioneer/Integra/Denon/Marantz because of Dirac.
Here is a comparison that will help with what other features they each offer:

It will be the least expensive option to have DL & DLBC!
I bit the bullet when it hit $999 new! 😜

One of these i will jump upto aventage line and most likely run it as is. Less equipment/ cable clutter too
Room correction likely makes a bigger difference than using external amps.

I've tried 4 receivers out in my 5 2 4 set up.
Even my wife said Yamaha had the best sound
Out of all of them.
