No. It has its own story. They pretty much all do. They do take place shortly after each other, but it's not one big 4-game storyline.
If you already own either Uncharted 4 or Lost Legacy, you can just upgrade one of them to this. Just pop either disc in, and then you can pay $10 to upgrade. You get the PS5 version of both games, so you only have to upgrade one. It will just require you to use whatever PS4 disc you upgrade, in order to play. If you have either one digitally, you still just go into the PlayStation store and upgrade it.
$19 for both games is a great deal if you like both games.
If you haven't played Uncharted before, I recommend starting with the Nathan Drake Collection (Uncharted 1,2,3)
For someone with no nostalgia for the series coming at it today, the first game is very rough around the edges. The difficulty is all over the map, including some insanely difficult and frustrating sections near the end of the game. It's very linear and the gunplay is a bit hollow by today's standards. I'm not taking away from the marvel it was for the time it was released. That's no question. But it can be a slog when played today with the context of more modern games.
I actually think 2 and 3 suffer from a bit of this too, but it's not nearly so pronounced and they are much more easily enjoyable games.

Uncharted series is the reason why I bought a PlayStation. Watched my roommate play it and looked better than movies (before the uncharted movie came out)! Played the whole series multiple times on different difficulty levels. Naughty Dog is such an amazing studio. (They also made the Last of Us, which we all know now became a great hit TV series)
Same price at GameStop too, or less if buy used.
I always buy physical, lost legacy and uncharted 4 are same price at GameStop used. $7 each for pro members.
PSA: this collection was "free" with ps+ so people should check their library before buying.
If you prefer digital they're good games, have been $10 each for years now. Not sure how much better the ps5 upgrade helps, other than frame rate.
By the way, just got miles morales ps5 used for $14 with pro rewards. First time playing it and I really like the animations they use when he swings, has his own style.
