You also get free Starfield download with purchase. Note: Must have the new card installed as it does a hardware check. Good deal.

Seen this drop to $580 or $510 with ZIP (you end up paying a decent amount in interest).

This is the normal price these days. You can get it cheaper if you're patient. 7900 XT has also been hovering at $700 on a good day.

Thanks for replying to this. It seems quite a tough time to upgrade. I am on a 2060 and don't want to waste the money in a cheap, small upgrade that I won't be happy with in the end anyways.

Figured I would go for 6950 xt or 7900xt (gains seem to cost more than they are worth putting the 6950 xt in the sweet spot). Now that I know it will go cheaper, I will hold off purchasing anything right now.

Feedback is appreciated!

I am in the same boat with my 1660 SUPER. I am personally waiting for one of three things:

1. 7900 XT, 4070 Ti (or better) drops to $500 (to match Xbox Series X)

2. NVIDIA 5000 Series will hopefully be more reasonable

3. Intel Battlemage may be an interesting pickup if it's priced well for performance.

I still think 6800xt at $480 and 6950xt at $580 are the best deals right now (and both come with Starfield Premium) for 1440p+ gaming, but I havent seen them at those prices in a few weeks. 7900xt at $700 is also good, especially if you plan on playing at 4k res mostly.

Could also wait for the long rumored 7800xt which should provide about 6950xt performance but with better ray tracing and newer tech. Dont know what the price would be (probably around $600-700) or when they will actually come out (maybe in 1-2 months?).

Thanks for the response. I thought I was asking for a lot for the 6950 XT to be under $500 Smilie

I don' see Nvidia changing their tactics any time soon. I see the 5000 series being expensive and the 4000s not dropping by much.

Battlemage is expected to be around 4080 levels and won't be around for close to a year (expect summer '24). Guessing both AMD and Nvidia will have something by then. The other concern I have going Intel is driver support. How far will Intel go with driver to support both the old stuff and new stuff?

(To your first point) ^THIS!!! I went and bought a 4K monitor for videos and work. I feel like I kind of shot myself in the foot because now I want to game at 4K (probably should have gone 1440) laugh out loud

Another great point!!! I am thinking I am in the "I WANT IT NOW" phase and I need to be patient. OMG

Thank you both!!!

What is your CPU? If yours is not good enough you are wasting money. If I were you I might go 6700xt ~ 6800xt. My third com has 5800x + 6700xt can run Bio Hazard re 4 at 4k very smoothly 60hz.

My main is 13900k + 4090, second is 12700k + 6950xt(I got it last deal $567 with BH re4)

I'm rolling a 12700K.

My thought was: Intel's 7nm process is pretty good, a huge leap from 11th gen. Intel's 2nm process may be an even bigger leap. If they get to something nuts like 7 MHz with 2nm 15th or 16th gen, then we'll see, but I'm not really processor-bound on the games I play right now.

I'm looking to try and play games at 1440p with steady 60 fps or higher depending on the game.

LGA 1700 processors are way better price to performance than GPUs right now.

I want the 790xtx but I've been researching it and it seems the drivers are kinda a mess. Might have to lower my needs and wait on a 6950xt for under $600
