Local Sam's Clubs in Central Florida (Orlando, Brevard and Indian River Counties) are clearing out Lifetime Kayaks. I purchased two tandem Envoys in Sunset Fusion for $399.98 (normally $649.98) and a Hydros 85 in red for $113.98 (normally 199.98), though they seemed to have dropped even more in price since yesterday. The Sam's Club in Orlando had several Hydros and Kenais in stock, though there is a price difference depending on color.

It might be worth looking on the DICKS website as well.... they had several Kayaks (mostly inflatables) on sale for a similar price - they were tandems.

Bought the tandem envoy for $289 at my local club and used it on a 4 hour downriver trip on Sunday.

Its VERY wide and kind of heavy. Definitely need two people to move it although if they thoughtfully designed the hull shape they could've easily put a handle in the middle of the body so you could 1-man it.

The seat cushions are complete garbage and actually tore off the rear and one of 3 fasteners ripped on the front seat pad. The seatbacks use straps that attach with crappy plastic U hooks and they do not hold up well to leaning back. Our backs were killing us at the end of the trip and the rear seats strap kept popping off the clasp time and time again. I saw there is an alternative alunimum seat strap mount you can get on Amazon for about $16 for a pair but why should you have to immediately upgrade your kayak? The 1-seater model mentioned in this deal uses the exact same seat setup so just beware.

Despite being 10.5' long, it is actually plenty roomy for two people. I'm 6'4" and was in both the back and front and its fine. Not much room to store stuff behind you but we kept our dry bags in front of us without issue. It is insanely stable and the reviewer on sams that mentioned it isn't stable must be completely awful at kayaking. We had to jump off a few times to pull it through shallow water and it was super easy to just flop in and out of the seat without chance of it tipping.

I'm going to contact lifetime warranty about my seat cushions and the clasps and i'm still contemplating what I'm going to do with it. I like the smaller form factor of this kayak for a tandem but the seat design just sucks horrendously and shouldn't fail after ONE outing. If Lifetime doesn't' resolve it for me I might return it.

I only own Lifetime kayaks, so I don't have anything else to compare it to, but the Envoy doesn't seem that wide to me. It's 36". Almost all of their single 10' kayaks are 31". The two 8.5' Hydros I have are 30". I figure the additional 5-6" is for stability to cope with two people on the boat. They are heavy SOBs, though, and it is annoying that there is no carry handle in the middle (it would make it easier to reposition in my garage and to strap down in my truck)...but truthfully, I can't see me ever carrying this kayak for more than a few feet on my own since it's nearly 80lbs and very unwieldy, so it's not a dealbreaker to me.

Unfortunately, Plastic D rings are pretty much the norm for kayaks of this tier, as you probably saw when you were searching Amazon. Lifetime's CS is good though - I was missing a couple of hooks and a seat strap from one of the Envoys I purchased and reached out to Lifetime for replacement over chat. They didn't even ask me for proof of purchase, just asked how many I wanted and sent them. I didn't have the problems you did with the hooks coming undone except that I kept kicking my daughter's off by accident. I was going to see if there wasn't a way to tighten down the post so that it was a tighter fit if I can figure out what kind of fastener is being used. Otherwise, I might just zip tie it.

Our seat pads look fine after 3 hours out, but I honestly don't expect that thin piece of foam to provide comfort or last (I don't know why they even bother - I guess for friction so you don't slide around? Our other kayaks don't have pads at all). I did not have an issue with the seat back, but my husband did. He's about 100 lbs heavier than me and always seems to have back issues no matter what kayak we've used (rentals, inflatables or this). I just don't think the stock seats are really made to hold up bigger, heavier guys. I've ordered a couple of replacement options from Amazon that go higher up his back, as well as a stadium style seat that someone on our local kayaking forum recommended.

The best part about these kayaks that I did not realize until I read the manual is that they can be converted to a single kayak by moving the seat to the middle position. I thought I was going to have to sell them in a couple years when my 7 year old will probably want her own kayak. My husband used it in the single mode and he said it didn't feel unbalanced or weird.

Even with having to purchase an after market seat and maybe a few butt pads (which seems to be norm, I swear there's a post on our kayak forum every other day about replacing seats), I'm pleased with these kayaks. It was windy the night I took ours out (between 7-9mph) and the chop was picking up the front a bit because my daughter is only 55 lbs, but it still felt very stable to me and tracked so much better than my stupid inflatables. It's not as amazing as my father's $1500 Vibe kayak, but for recreational kayaking, these will be just fine.

Bought the ENVOY online for 207.30, local pickup. Thanks

It was $298ish last week. I waited until it dropped again this morning..

OP, you could try price guarantee if samsclub allows it (i am not sure)

Yes, it is super inconvenient that such a heavy kayak doesn't have a handle...
