Here's the thing; a Samsung QD-OLED doesn't necessarily NEED Dolby Vision, but if it had it, it would look even better. Dolby Vision is just superior to HDR10+. It's no contest.
Dolby Vision has better color (It has 68 billion, HDR10/10+ has roughly 1 billion). Even though the panels themselves aren't 12-bit and can't portray all 68 billion colors, you're still getting more colors than with HDR10+. It also has better contrast and brightness.
This is the battle between HD-DVD and Blu-Ray. Dolby Vision is Blu-Ray and will win. On top of that, let's say you have a Samsung QD-OLED and an LG OLED and they're the same price. You're paying the same amount for that Samsung and getting one less feature. To me, that's bs.
I've looked at those Samsungs, and they do have a great picture, but for me, no Dolby Vision is a dealbreaker. Not to mention Samsung TVs always develop so much lag and I've always hated their UI. You also get the magic remote with an LG. You wouldn't think it makes much of a difference, but being able to point your remote around instead of clicking buttons is so much freaking faster. It's super responsive. I could never go back.
I think the LG 77" C3 & C2 deals will heat up quite a bit for Black Friday.
I saw the SD for a Samsung 110" Mini led for 150K boasting 20bit color and "the Best" picture.
ANY Opinions on the OLEDS verse this new version of Mini Leds??
OLED seem to be the clear choice but are they bring forward a better technology? It seemed like an exorbitated amount of money for a 2nd rate panel
That is micro LED not mini LED. Micro is not mainstream yet (hence the 150k price on that deal) but from what I hear is the best of both worlds and will likely replace OLED eventually. The marketing on TVs is a mess of buzzwords.
Really? I wonder, was that exact value or did it include tax? Did it come immediately before or after the TV was delivered? That's an interesting tactic too, but not something I'd gamble on of course.
I contacted them like 6 months later since I never received the gift card and they almost immediately sent a refund on the credit card.

Good catch it was Micro LED. Followup: ...And Will Hisense and TLC get those MicroLED panels?

Late c1, c2, and c3 are all essentially the same TV with minor, unnoticeable improvements unless you do a/b comparisons
The C1 doesn't really compare to the C2. Not even late C1. The C2 and C3 are very close though.
Even the late C1 with an Evo panel does not have the EX Evo panel that the 2nd quarter C2s started coming out with. The EX Evo is 30% brighter, bringing up to the G2's level. The C2 also has Dolby Precision Detail for Dolby Vision content, which the C1 doesn't have, due to not having the newer processor. It makes DV content look even better and brighter than before. It also has a better game mode than the C1 and weighs half of what the C1 does, which is nice if you ever move or decide to wall mount.
I have the S90C 77". Got it from Costco with the 5 year warranty n free professional install but it was $3199. This unit at $3000 minus the $300 gift card I'd say makes it a better deal. That being said every review I've read puts the S90C above the C3 so if that's your primary concern I'd point to that.
How's S90C picture and build quality? Mine is going to be delivered on Wednesday direct from Samsung but I am worried about the stories of panel being bent. Was planning to cancel and order G3 but as it's already shipped so Samsung can't cancel. I have to refuse the delivery now.

I bought the CX for about 3k a few year back, because it was, at the time, the best consumer TV panel out there. the 2nd best (QD LED) of the same size can be had for 30% less, or even at half the price. LG can demand the premium because it had the tech to back it up.
LG doesn't hold that advantage any more, with the QD OLED out there at 3.5k price tag. LG needs to be quite a bit cheaper than 3k to move the units. to put simply: those who are going to drop a 3k on a TV isn't going to save 400 dollar to compromise on picture quality (or else they could get the LED version for much much cheaper)
i think around 2k~2.5k would be a fair MSRP for 77 OLED

Trying to decide between this and the Samsung S90. Seems Samsung might be better just not sure if Dolby vision is that important. This is a great price. Anyone have both?
Samsung still hasn't figured out burn in. Their B series suffered with them.
LG sacrificed color accuracy to put in a 4th white subpixel to eliminate the issue. They are the only ones who've fixed it to this point.

Samsung QD-Oled has more color vibrancy than LG Oled, and gaming is better on Samsung. If u do any sort of gaming,go for Samsung s90c or better yet s95c.

I have the S90C 77inch. Simply put, the picture is incredible. Additionally, the brightness is very intense. I have mine in a dark room, and my brightness setting is 20 (max is 50). At 35 it starts to bother my eyes, especially when it's switching between light and dark images. I don't have a WRGB OLED to compare against directly, but from all the reviews I've read, I think QD OLED is better than WRGB slightly.
The downside of Samsung is the interface software (Tizen OS). It's awful. For a TV that costs more than $3K it's embarrassing how bad it is. One BIG issue is that it freezes for several seconds at a time randomly when you are navigating through screens. I can't speak to the LG software for their OLED TVs.
If you are going to go Samsung, my recommendation would be to use it with an Nvidia Shield or something similar. Otherwise, I would lean towards the LG.

Weight difference is nice but again, unless you're doing a/b testing, it looks the same.
Source: me who has a family with oleds. You can nitpick the numbers all you want, unless you carry a measuring stick with you at all times, you're not gonna be able to tell what something is gonna look like on a newer set. If you got the c1 late last year, you made a great bet.

Here is a good comparison.
Looks like if gaming is a high priority, Samsung.
If you mainly stream movies, LG.

Go for the S90C. QD-OLED > WRGB OLED.
