If you're not buying this for looks, the 18" Harbor Freight magnetic bar is currently $1.99@ ITC early access parking lot sale. They're great. We have a few.
I got TWO from Ikea forever ago. I mounted them parallel with one about 2 inches above the other. It it works great and looks good, too IMHO
Word of caution, though: With a metal bar like these, place your knives spine first to make sure you don't chip your blades. This is especially important if you have harder, high-carbon steel blades.
This. I have the harbor freight ones in the garage for tools, etc, and one in the kitchen for knives.
Also if you don't want to drill into your backsplash, mine works just fine attached with two command strips.

just an anecdotal comment;
i bought this big one for this under $20 price; https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000C8T98
i found that without exposed magnets
many metal items will not hold fast
such as deboning knife and poultry sheers.

Screws mount a back panel. Bar attaches to back panel. Pictures on Amazon.
