After the latest firmware update (something you can't do on the gsync one), there is no reason to buy the gsync version over this. I have this monitor and a 3080 ti. It's an amazing monitor I have no complaints.

Looks great! But when I first set it up the colors felt a little oversaturated (granted I never used an OLED before)
The pixel shift is noticeable to me but nothing killer.
However, the pixel refresh is annoying. I use it as my work monitor and am at it at least 8hrs a day, which means it will need to refresh twice -- once being right in the middle of my workday when I am busy well, working. If I cancel the refresh, it won't run by itself as I never put my PC in standby mode.
I did set up a screensaver to run a blank black screen, if I step away for more than 5 mins. Chances are, if I don't come back within 5, I won't come back for a while. Makes sense to have my screen cleared just in case.

So good, I sold my Dell 32" S3220DGF putting cash in my pocket.
I would estimate that I would need to use this for 90% work/10% play (most mostly media). This means that I would mostly using static windows so burn it would be a possibility...
I've been patiently waiting for 38WN95C-W to go on sale, but that thing never moves (probably low volume of these thing so price stays high)

I agree that HDR1000 is generally overkill on a PC monitor, but with the DWF in HDR400 mode I think it's great. Doesn't get overly bright, and no brightness limiting at larger window sizes causing distracting brightness change. I think the main issue is a lot of PC games have crap HDR implementations and just blow out a lot of the screen and call it "HDR".
Baldur's Gate 3 has great HDR and it really makes the world feel beautifully vivid, fire and other spell effects look great. Compare that to AAA title Diablo 4 where they couldn't be arsed so it just uses Auto HDR which looks mediocre at best. Unfortunately HDR is still a bit of the wild west give how calibration per-game is left up to the customer to set it "how you think looks good". Hopefully we'll be in a better state in a few years.
the 3 year warranty against burn in is SLICK.
I used $140 (dell rewards cash) I had from purchasing the new Dell Alienware R16.
and 10% CB was just too good.
Plus an additional 5% back using my Amazon prime credit card (chase offers)
I am sure next year they will release an updated version with HDMI 2.1.
and higher resolution the year after (I dont think dell will release the higher resolution monitor next year). so this monitor will be good enough to avoid a tempting upgrade for at least two years.

The monitor WILL force a pixel refresh after 8 hours if you cancel the 4 hour one. Your display will just go into standby and start the pixel refresh by itself after 8 hours.
Also you're better off just setting your monitor to go into standby in Windows after 5 minutes than setting a screensaver. Your PC will not go into standby, only your display, and the monitor will then do the refresh if it's been longer than 4 hours. If you need to use it during the pixel refresh, you can cancel it, get back to work, and it will do it the next time it's in standby.
That said I don't recommend this monitor for anyone using it for anything that has static images on the display for an extended period of time, like work. It WILL get burn in, and no amount of pixel refreshing will mitigate it. It seems that most people get burn in on these around 8-12 months in if they're using it for work, no matter how many preventative measures they take. Some get it much sooner. I've never seen one last longer than a year without burn in when used for work, though. These monitors are better than anything else on the market for gaming (I own one and love it), but OLED isn't and may never be ready for work tasks. It's the nature of the technology. Each pixel has a finite lifespan. Using certain pixels more than others WILL cause permanent burn in. There's no way around it.
Dell does include a 3 year warranty that includes burn in protection, but they send a refurbished unit as replacement, and I've seen many horror stories of customers having to send back 4-5 replacements until they got a good one. Also, once you accept a warranty replacement, the warranty ends. As in, you only get one replacement monitor if yours develops burn in. If the replacement fails or develops burn in, your stuck with it. I'm not trying to dissuade everyone from buying this monitor. I have one and it's the best upgrade I've ever made for a PC. Just know what you're getting into and be prepared to take preventative measures to keep it pristine.

I don't see any reason this monitor needs HDMI 2.1, since this is a PC gaming monitor. Consoles don't support ultra-wide (they will output 1440p at 120hz to this monitor, which is supported by HDMI 2.0). I'm not saying it shouldn't have HDMI 2.1 with it being such an expensive monitor, just that's it's pointless. If your PC doesn't have a DP output, you could just get an HDMI 2.1 to DP 1.4 cable.

Plus the extra year of card warranty. With Amex they'll extend even a 5 year(from manufacturer), so you could get up to 6 years with dell max. I just went for the 3 years, 4 years of warranty is a long time. Agree about the burn in, for a monitor of this type that's a requirement, really separates dell(although I saw that lg is now covering it for two years with the 27" OLED)
