Nope, only the SSD is upgradeable.

Does it come with Windows 11 home or pro? Tempted to pick this up to upgrade my laptop from 2018. I'm after the screen since it's a higher res for astrophotography in the field and playing Genshin Impact on the go.
Windows 11 Home. If you really need the features of pro there's those unsanctioned sites to get the key for cheap lol

This was 650 the other morning early in the morning before being raised to 750. It seems that 650 is the lowest it has been, with 700 a couple times now.

Hmmm, this or the Acer Aspire 5 at Costco for $550?

Debating between the OLED screen and i7 vs. the i5, 1080p and expandable RAM slot.

Honestly I would go with the Asus Zenbook, it's better specs and build quality overall.

Unless you absolutely need more RAM (depending what programs you plan on running).
16GB is more than enough for most people.

The Costco warranty and return policy can't be ignored though. That is great value in itself.

It's been as low as $600 (new) from BB, but that price didn't last long. My wife and I each have one and, imo, it's easily the best $500 laptop out there for our needs (office/business/development, not gaming). It screams if you upgrade the SSD with an SN850X, which have been hitting $100 for 2TB lately (I've bought 3 now at that price).

I would be all over this if it wasn't stuck with integrated graphics. Upgrading the nvme isn't a big deal.

I mean at this price range there's going to be very compromising sacrifices to the current specs in order to get a DGPU in there. So basically a different laptop entirely. It will not be realistic to keep everything and integrate even the most low end dedicated graphics, even with the Arc series.

You would sacrifice portability (heavier and larger laptop) with a dedicated gpu with a laptop. shorter battery life. runs hotter.

No. My screen is gorgeous, very accurate colors and very smooth at 120hz. It's about 550 nits per the spec I believe. But I can use it outside on a bright day just fine, which was a pleasant surprise.

I had the 8GB version for a few days this week (returned it) and the screen was superb. It looked better, more detailed, and brighter than my M1 MacBook Air.
