Seems like you didn't. This is as full wattage as a 4070 laptop gets. Your comment implies there are higher wattage available. Regardless of what your intent was, it sets up those who don't know any better to avoid this laptop for a "non-limited" one. Was just setting the record straight for those who really didn't know.

I purchased the ASUS - TUF 15.6" Gaming Laptop - Intel Core i7 with 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 - 1TB SSD [bestbuy.com] when it was on sale at BBY a few weeks ago for the same price. Loving it. Very expandable (2x NVME). All specs say it maxes out at 32GB RAM, but several people online claim it maxes at 64GB. I have a (2x32GB) kit coming tomorrow and will confirm this post then.

The screen is the weak point, but it's still decent.

UPDATE: 64GB (2x32GB) SUPPORT CONFIRMED!!!

Seriously though, it's a 15.6 screen. 1080p is still going to look excellent. 1440p on a 15.6 screen is stressing your hardware more for no reason.

Man I am so itching to bite on this, I was semi kicking myself for missing it the other week, but I want to go see it in person and unfortunately no store around me has it.

Most will dock it, but yeah, this is a very capable laptop. It's a little neutered, but most laptops are. I'd rock it.

I was seeing from this : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITmbT6reDsw
That the 4070 in a laptop is roughly the same as a 3070ti laptop card. If that's true, then this deal compared to the $1k HP 3070ti 17 inch QHD deal before seemed to be just ok?

So plug in a decent 27" 1440 and this would be pretty good for gaming?
Yeah definitely. I still have a 2070 Alienware that I have docked and play on my 1440p monitors. 4070, even a scaled down mobile version, would definitely be powerful enough for 1440p even at higher refresh rates.

Per ASUS in the response on Best Buy it is 300 nits. I find it just fine.

Watt limited card. only FHD. Not a bad deal, but it's a neutered system overall.
All the laptop 4070s are software limited. This technically has 125+15 boost watts, so is a full 140w card. Reviewers have shown this to be the case for all 4070 laptops so far. So this is as good as it gets, especially at this price point.

I got it from that deal, been using a week or so. Haven't played a ton of games on it, but it is easily pushing esports caliber games to 120hz at 4k at high settings. Ultra gets a couple frame drops down to 110 or so here and there. Build quality and other features are top notch for this price point. I would just get it and then return to store if not happy with it. Screen is fine at this size unless you plan on playing outside.

I agree. Set gsync up and have refresh capped at 117fps, enjoying tear free 4k gaming. I was impressed with the thunderbolt port and mux switch at this price as well.

This seems like such a good selling point and I don't understand why this information is basically impossible to find when looking at laptops. I would have had no idea if you didn't say anything and even digging through the specs shows nothing. Up until today, I thought dual slots for storage was only available on (most) LG Grams.

Yeah, I don't know why info for the Asus laptops is sparse compared to their mobos and other hardware. I spent an hour or two digging for info before pulling the trigger. Almost missed the sale at that time.

Yeah that has been annoying. I have found for most laptops I have seen the "Max" Ram listing is typically referring to the max that the specific product has out of the box across all their sales channels (for example this best buy one has 16 but somewhere they sell the same one with 32). It would be nice if they always just listed the max the laptop is actually capable of.
