Seems like you didn't. This is as full wattage as a 4070 laptop gets. Your comment implies there are higher wattage available. Regardless of what your intent was, it sets up those who don't know any better to avoid this laptop for a "non-limited" one. Was just setting the record straight for those who really didn't know.

I purchased the ASUS - TUF 15.6" Gaming Laptop - Intel Core i7 with 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 - 1TB SSD [bestbuy.com] when it was on sale at BBY a few weeks ago for the same price. Loving it. Very expandable (2x NVME). All specs say it maxes out at 32GB RAM, but several people online claim it maxes at 64GB. I have a (2x32GB) kit coming tomorrow and will confirm this post then.

The screen is the weak point, but it's still decent.

UPDATE: 64GB (2x32GB) SUPPORT CONFIRMED!!!

Seriously though, it's a 15.6 screen. 1080p is still going to look excellent. 1440p on a 15.6 screen is stressing your hardware more for no reason.

That the 4070 in a laptop is roughly the same as a 3070ti laptop card. If that's true, then this deal compared to the $1k HP 3070ti 17 inch QHD deal before seemed to be just ok?
From the video, it looks like the 4070 uses less power to achieve roughly the same performance so at the very least it's more efficient.

I've been monitoring deals on gaming laptops for a month or two and this does seem to be the best deal so far. Found this review that looks favorable, too: https://www.youtube.com/live/0Hcc...gANgjLh60G

Out of stock online, YMMV finding it in local stores. Great deal IMO.

just keep checkign bestbuy, my guess is they are randomly restocking this, for example last night I was going to buy a open box excellent, went to checkout and it was gone.

there were no new units for sale last night, this morning no other used units but had a brand new one, i purchased the brand new one, and just looking now - few hours later, they have another used - excellent for sale again.

i got the tuf a16 amd advantage edition for $750 so curious if this will be better/worth/value at $999 - 250 for worst screen, but more cpu/gpu raw power and 1tb ssd vs 512gb, but only 16gb ddr4 which I dont really think ddr5 is that much faster taht it is a "must have", ive already seen some weird amd driver issues and have like 2 more weeks to return the tuf a16

mainly want to see the thunderbolt port since the a16 did not have, and compare overall battery life, if this can get like 10hrs web/video watching, on the A16 i am easily getting 10-12hrs, i know this will run hotter, but curious how well/long the i7 can run in low wattage mode vs the ryzen 7

If you really want this and it is sold out keep an eye on the open box excellent availability. Lots of impulse buy/returns it seems.

JFC, folks. The USB ports are intermittent and TB4 doesn't work on these things. ASUS support acknowledges these are faulty and should be returned.

Can you provide any links that verify this, if you Google it pulls up plethora of issues from 2022-2020, I didn't see much stuff on 2023 f15 but I only looked like 30sexa

I'll sell you a like new 17" and 15.6" version right now. I'm not hating--have several ASUS mobos and am a fan, but their gaming laptops have a serious USB/TB4 issue.

Calm down. It's very clear you're not hating. So don't take it the wrong way. I also purchased this laptop and would be interested in any information I can use to ask Asus about these problems and whether they have fixed them on the units they are selling in 2023.

Aside from the 4070 vs 3070 ti, how is this compared to the earlier deal on the legion 5 pro from Walmart for $1099?
