Seems like you didn't. This is as full wattage as a 4070 laptop gets. Your comment implies there are higher wattage available. Regardless of what your intent was, it sets up those who don't know any better to avoid this laptop for a "non-limited" one. Was just setting the record straight for those who really didn't know.

I purchased the ASUS - TUF 15.6" Gaming Laptop - Intel Core i7 with 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 - 1TB SSD [bestbuy.com] when it was on sale at BBY a few weeks ago for the same price. Loving it. Very expandable (2x NVME). All specs say it maxes out at 32GB RAM, but several people online claim it maxes at 64GB. I have a (2x32GB) kit coming tomorrow and will confirm this post then.

The screen is the weak point, but it's still decent.

UPDATE: 64GB (2x32GB) SUPPORT CONFIRMED!!!

Seriously though, it's a 15.6 screen. 1080p is still going to look excellent. 1440p on a 15.6 screen is stressing your hardware more for no reason.

Aside from the 4070 vs 3070 ti, how is this compared to the earlier deal on the legion 5 pro from Walmart for $1099?
Big difference is the screen. Legion has higher resolution. That isn't something you can upgrade yourself.

Aside from the screen difference, do you know if one is better than the other in terms of cooling and noise or both of them about the same?

The Legion is very highly rated in terms of keyboard, trackpad, overall build quality and cooling. If you can afford the $100 difference and don't mind the older specs, then the Legion is the one to get.

Edit: because of the power requirements of the GPU, I wouldn't be surprised if the Legion was louder when running more demanding games

I'll sell you a like new 17" and 15.6" version right now. I'm not hating--have several ASUS mobos and am a fan, but their gaming laptops have a serious USB/TB4 issue.
So is that a no? Are there any reputable sources for this laptop with the issues you claim? I am really asking as I am genuinely interested as I picked this up last week and am within the return period. Still running it through the paces. Ports have been working without issue for me so far.
