I was all about supplements, the more the better was my attitude. What really pushed me over the edge was zinc.
Reading a lot of pro-zinc research, great for your prostate, helps digestion, etc. So I took 50 Mg per day for a year or so. I eventually developed insomnia and several mental health issues.
By doing a supplement purge I realize that zinc is one that you really need to watch.
5mg per day is the MAX that you should take of zinc. In excess it causes: UTI's, insomnia, and several mental health issues such as anger management, resentment, low frustration tolerance.
If you have nausea or food poisoning: zinc + probiotics are an amazing cure, but beyond that, I may supplement a probiotic with 5 Mg zinc every other week or once a mont and be mindful or my body's response.
Tr:dl You most likely don't need a zinc supplement especially if your diet is heavy in red meat which is a main source of zinc.
