Hard to say if 4-5% negative, based on listed reviews, is good or bad not knowing how many units are going out. Most people don't leave good reviews but you can be certain people with bad experiences will.

Roughly half of those negative reviews were people not reading the description complaining about accessories not being included or shipping issues. But the other half were people with legit issues of broken parts, DOA, dirty, etc...

I don't think its much to be concerned about . If you figure only 25% of people leave feedback when they have a positive experience and almost 100% leave it when they have bad experience it really doesnt scale out to be that bad for a "refurbished" product.

I also wonder how many of these are costco returns for people who got them for a hurricane, never used it, then returned them or people who only needed it for a day then returned it.

I remember seeing people returning these to costco after a hurricane scare a year or 2 ago and i asked if they would sell me one for a discount lol. I was told they send them right back to the manufacturer.

I posted it as it was buried in the other post for the less powerful one. The one that this morning went out of stock & I posted that it came back in stock.

Just sharing the deal so people are aware it's out there. I purchased this one and don't care other than to spread the word & deal.

Can this be converted to run on natural gas?
I would like to know this as well. I have converted a few propane items to natural gas. It's usually a pretty simple task where you change or drill out the orifice fitting. But I would need to know more about this unit to know for sure if the conversion is possible.

I found out it is possible. There are some other replies in this thread about it, you can also find some Youtube videos and reddit posts about it. Be aware you'll get less wattage than the listed Propane rating, not sure how much less.

I have a NG hook up on my patio so I'm on the fence between converting this inverter or buying the big Firman T07571 open frame that runs on NG which is on sale for around $550, louder but more power.

I have the large firman generator from costco specifically for the natural gas option. Would prefer an inverter running on natural gas. I agree with Gbro83 if you could offer up the parts that worked for you specifically many of us would be g8ful

Most of my power-outages are thunderstorm-related so does anyone have a recommendation for a cover so this could be used out in the rain?
Some people modify a deck box for it. I have been thinking of using a mid size portable green house with the side flaps open.

Thanks. I was thinking about that. I'll start with a cheaper cover and see how it does: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0C5DC67N4

If you mean a protective cover for storage, that would be good. But it has nothing to do to protect it from storm while running.
For protective cover, you can find many, even Firman brand, around that price.

Any issues with that larger Firman that runs on NG? I'm considering grabbing the refurbished one that's on sale for $534 with the ebay sale and building an acoustic box to help with the noise.

Received mine this clear line from the bottom of the carb seems to be disconnected from somewhere.

Is it some sort of drain for the carb?

Yep carb drain

Yep. Petcock valve - I noticed the W02981 (2900W) version has the same.

Mine is not connected either, just slid back where I have circled.

How beat up was your exterior? Mine has countless (50+) dings and scrapes. My unit is also very dirty.

Control panel looks good though. There is a lot of an oily material or grease inside my unit. I'm guessing from factory refurbishment maybe.

Can't run it right now due to time constraints but a little worried after seeing the condition of outer cover.

Shipping box was great and packed nicely. Came with battery already installed inside . Manufactured in 2021.

Overall i would say 8-8.5 out off 10 on looks. Firing it up shortly to see how it runs

The W02981 I got came in pretty decent looking shape overall (despite having some apparent electrical issues). Some scuffs, a tiny (unimportant) crack in the outer casing, some yellowed stickers from sun (or heat) on the top, and it was manufactured in early 2019... but overall it looks good considering its real age:

Still messing but so far mine will not stay running using propane.

The engine runs maybe 3-5 seconds and shuts off. Have tried 2 different tanks.

Will mess some more and then try regular gas.

Yes, sorry. I linked one for storage and not running.

I was looking at other options for use while running and the less expensive ones didn't look like they were worth spending money on and the more expensive ones (e.g., https://www.amazon.com/Coverify-G...6KZ2?th=1) didn't look great either. The ones to buy are $130+, which isn't worth it.

I'll just make my own. Thanks for the tips about a modified deck box or portable greenhouse.
