Amazon has the Motorola MB8600 [amazon.com] on sale for $99.99

This does not have built in wifi like some other cable modems, but that's actually a positive for many people.

The seller isn't Amazon, looks to be the US arm of Motorola and the return policy is 30 days instead of the usual 90 days of Amazon. Looks to be the lowest price beating the lightning deal from mid-July.

If you have xfinity, you roll the dice with a refurb since the MAC # may still be registered to previous owner and your registration will fail, leaving you to spend hours on the phone with CS.
Read the reviews and heed their nightmares.

Ordered and received this yesterday. It's not refurbished. Self-activated it very quickly on the Xfinity app.

Same BS with Optimum/Cablevision. Bought a refurb modem a few years ago, worked great for about a year and then Optimum contacted me to tell me the MAC is registered to them and is, therefore "their equipment". Such a scam, I guarantee they charged the prior user for non return of equipment. I will never buy a used or refurb cable modem.

Motorola is ending their modem business so there probably won't be any support going forward. Prob no new firmware updates to support NexGen speed for Xfinity
