Lol this is literally the opposite of reality. Unless you're a trim carpenter all you'll be doing on a miter saw is rough chopping to length. The table saw can do, with far more precision, the work of at least 8 different tools.

How does this compare to the Dewalt DWS780?

Edit: For those who care, apparently this saw doesn't come with a shadow light or laser.

From what I understand the Lowe's app and website were showing the deal prices originally at stores that had them, but it is no longer working. The price was incorrect on the app while I was in store buying mine and I got the discounted price

$22??? Seems like a pics-or-it-didn't-happen type of deal. No-brainer if you happen to find it though.

They were sold out at 84770, but I was able to get a manager to approve the purchase of the display.

Bought it yesterday while checking my store for the deal on Bosch table saw that was posted here, no luck on the table saw or the delta saw deal, but walked the isle to price check other items. Moment I seen this on clearance for this price i snatched it up real quick. Also picked up the Metabo table saw today in the morning that was also on clearance for 225$ but didn't have time to research it at the store yesterday, but stopped by in the morning to see if it's still there.

I've been working on building up a collection to start woodworking once the temps come down a bit. A miter saw's not been on the list due to space constraints, I was planning on using the dwe7491RS w/ a nice miter gauge instead but boy is this tempting knowing the glide's take up less space than a normal sliding saw.

For those of you that woodwork, what are your thoughts on just using a table saw vs grabbing one of these even if I may not really have the space? I honestly don't know how often I'll need the depth this can manage (was thinking maybe a 10" non sliding) but having it just in case is really drawing me in.

I'd rather have a top end miter saw over a table saw every day of the week and twice on Sunday. Table saw is fantastic for sheet goods and rips and cabinets, but there won't be a job you tackle that you probably won't touch a miter saw.

Space has been my big issue, the DWE folds up pretty nicely against the wall. I was really hoping I'd be able to run everything across the table saw or use the circular but maybe I need to take an early lunch and swing by my closest Lowes.

Thanks for the inputPeace
