So the specs on THD website says the the size of the 8k and 12k units are identical. The 12k weighs about 3.3lb more. Just seems odd to me.

Looks like Amazon matched the Midea deal and is now OOS. Home Depot's sale price lasts until midnight or until stock runs out. (If you're on the fence, might want to buy and then return to HD if you change your mind.)

Yeah it's not much more weight to install a larger compressor that is capable of 12k btu. Condenser and evaporator surfaces are the same size, and fans on both sides are just slightly more powerful. 12k unit just blows colder air with a little more airflow on max cool. Any lower setting than max cool - they operate identically.

My price was $189, $204.59 after taxes after an Oncor instant rebate.

There was a link right under the price that said "Get up to $50 in Rebates for zipcode" which took me to a form I filled out which gave me a promo code I used during checkout.

Really Amazon click on return get free shipping label and free pickup or if you really feel like loading it up and driving it to a store Amazon has drop off locations or Whole foods. I always get my refund within an hour or so after the shipping label is scanned. I usually do UPS drop off at CVS or request pickup but prefer CVS because they scan immediately and I get the refund faster.
