I have had issues with these units when shipped to my home. I have had to return 2 units as they arrived broken on delivery. The fan was making noise hitting something in the ac unit. Be sure to plug it into the wall and try it for a few hrs before you waste time and effort installing it. Just ny two cents!

Did it change if you'd slap the unit or something?

I heard rattling a lot initially, but after many adjustments, it doesn't happen anymore. I think something was forcing the unit to very slightly rattle against the window. I lodged some foam between the unit and the window on the inside.
