Also consider the thermaltake 1050 a3 psu... I just upgraded a 10y old corsair. It also has the 10y warranty atx 3 pcie5 std. For a few $ cheaper... Amazon or Newegg keep alternating on cheapest price

Did it come with 3 separate PCI-e cables for high end AMD cards? Many manufacturers will combine 2 connectors in one cable which seems not to be recommended even from Thermaltake. Surprisingly hard to find PSU with enough cables for AMD cards that are "affordable". I emailed TT and they never got back with me. Guess that is a sign that if I can't get a response from them to make a sale, then what if I have an issue.

About the Asus, I almost bought, but not pro reviews, and some saying the fan is very loud. Can anyone speak to this that owns this PSU?

There was one combined cable 600w.. I didnt use it, I jusr used two pcie separately. The 600w cable was much stiffer to attach to the 7900xt for some reason. My card works fine, even under full load. The psu is single rail so its comimg from the same spot and I dont have pcie5 mobo, and that IS THE REASON you would attach the pcie5 cable.. otherwise its useless. Perhaps in my next build... I'm saving the cables for thst day...

Can this plus a 7900xtx run Frogger at medium settings?

"Gaming" - You'll likely never come anywhere close to needing 1000W if it's just for games.

Fairly well-rated and very cheap for a 1000W. If you don't need the ATX 3.0 though, also consider the EVGA GT 1000w at $150 or the Corsair RM1000x at $170.

Unless you take advantage of the ATX3, only 3x CPU/PCIE is going to be a problem for some people. Especially those who actually need 1000w

I bought this exact power supply back in March. It fried my whole PC. Completely destroyed my motherboard and CPU. I'm sure most don't do that, but I would suggest not buying this.

Not sure why this posted twice, if someone has the ability to delete this duplicate, it doesn't seem to give me the option to do so.

neither asus nor corsair manufacture their own PSUs. they get them from the same places: channel well technologies and great wall. their come off the same assembly lines, made by the same pick and place machines and inspected/tested by the same people

ironically, asus still has some PSUs that are manufactured by seasonic whereas Corsair no longer contracts seasonic for any products.

While Corsair no longer works with seasonic, they still have one uber high-end product line manufactured by flex. but if you are on slickdeals shopping for PSUs, you're not the target demographic
