fyi; very thin and runs a bit small. i bought L to dry and shrink them, to use as sleep/under shirts, but i think if i shrink them, it prob wont be comfortable as undershirt

Why wouldn't they? Also, I went ahead and looked at the reviews and a lot of them sound fake AF. Too many reviews that sound over the top with excitement over something is basic as a undershirt is a big red flag to me. I went looking to see how many people talked about the fit but mostly found reviews like 'these are the best tshirts ever! These are sooo soft! My husband loves these! I bought three more packs!'

I picked up a triple pack few weeks ago to try them out and they are fantastic. 5% spandex blend is my go to from now on.
