This is an easy $250, but the ACH deposit needing to be from employer or government kind of sucks. My employer only allows for my entire check to be moved through a direct deposit request and not just a portion
Should highlight that this is only for existing Amex card holders,
Having trouble changing my DD to this account with my employer. "Routing number does not exist in the system."

I did the $900 chase offer early this year. $300 checking, $200 saving and $400 bonus for opening both.
oh wow, I don't think i've ever seen that one with the $400 for both. i've done the 300+200+100 one. i think this is the 3rd time I've done it and it was always the same amount for me.
is the 400 for both targeted for specific people or for most/everyone?

Then it's not an easy 250 for you, is it? Also, Capital One is offering 350 bonus for their checking account. Unlike Amex, you can actually go to a branch to deposit it withdraw your money should you need to.
After your account is created, you'll need to fund your account within 60 days to keep it open. Your available options include:
• Making a deposit online: After linking one of your other bank accounts, you can enable an online transfer into your Amex Rewards Checking account.
• Setting up direct deposit: Visit americanexpress.com/rewardscheckingdirectdeposit to explore direct deposit setup options. You can use automated direct deposit switching to transfer your direct deposit to your American Express® Rewards Checking account. If you or your payroll provider prefer to set up direct deposit manually, you can log in to download a form or access your account and routing numbers to fill out any paperwork.
• Using mobile check deposit: You can deposit a check quickly right from your mobile device using the American Express App. Available on iOS and Android only. Mobile data rates may apply.
• Wires: You can receive incoming wire transfers from external banks into your Rewards Checking account for no fee†.

Just got the $900 from Chase and now this. Sweet. Was able to open an account quickly, already having two cards from them. My employer has no problem with their routing number, either. The only hiccup I've run into is that YNAB isn't importing (or seeing) the account, but that may just be delayed.
