so what's the consensus on the airs now? I've seen so many issues with the display cables being damaged from normal use which causes the display to stop working. and now that they've been out for a while, it's becoming more apparent since it is "time" that was needed to see this issue. does anyone know if apple did anything in the m2 airs to prevent this? ppl say that the airs will last 5-6 years... well not if the display ribbon cable isn't properly protected and fails due to damage from normal usage. i'm sure an apple consumer will just be like "pay for the apple care" but then it's like... ??? i'm buying a product that is defective and apple care is basically required now? it's crazy how many ppl say apple products are quality products but then they always say you better get apple care tho... if it was quality.. u wouldn't need apple care
Just commenting on this my M1 Air with a shot screen. I closed it at my desk and woke up with a large black bar through my screen. Quoted $600-$800 to fix it. I can either try a cheap $200 eBay panel repair with the risk of breaking it or just suck it up and buy an M2. Either way, was pretty upset to have one of the most essential parts of this machine give up on me after two years. Hoping to hear something else about display fixes otherwise I'm going to have to suck it up and spend extra on AppleCare
The 2nd Apple service said that their engineer will check it to be sure and after one week examination they said it's totally fake and very close clone of the original but exactly not an original product
Just do a Google search for BestBuy fake AirPods and you will find many victims like me
You are avoiding a simple question: did you buy the airpod sealed or open box? You keep claiming that it's "FAKE" doesn't mean any thing so imma treat you as a troll.

I am not a troll, I'm just trying to say be careful when you buy from BB. My money turned to trash. I'm not avoiding your question. it was not a sealed and not an open box product. I have my receipt still. I found my receipt and a picture after I bought it.

That looks like sealed. It has to be one or the other. You can't just keep saying neither. Lol

This is unacceptable. I thought Apple would have learned their lesson from their laptops with failure prone GPUs and keyboards that don't last more than 2 years. Apparently Apple continues employing substandard engineers that make these choices. If you must have MacOS, maybe the best path is Mac Mini with a monitor.

Is this really a widespread issue? We have 5 M1 Airs in our household and zero issues.
If you qualify for educational pricing, Apple sells the 13.6" M2 8/256GB MacBook Air for $999 with:
$150 gift card (promotion ends Oct 2nd)
Discount on AppleCare+ if purchased with the laptop
Easy trade-in for old laptop (we got almost $400 for my wife's 2020 Intel 8/256GB MacBook Air a week-and-a-half ago)
Was hesitant to buy a computer with only 8 GB RAM in 2023, but getting the base model meant we could pick it up immediately.
For general use (web/video/email/docs/simple spreadsheets), her M2 MBA crushes my Asus G14 (Ryzen 9, 40 GB RAM), though obviously the G14 wins when it comes to gaming and other CPU intensive tasks (or anything that needs a lot of memory).
Fast, fanless, cool, lightweight, vibrant screen (though only 60 Hz), no chassis flex, excellent keyboard, superb touchpad, and battery lasts forever. Sweet little machine.
Thanks for the information, how much of an AppleCare discount are they offering?

Not a sealed or not an open box? What does that even mean?
The best value is the 16.2" M1 Pro 10-core Apple M1 Pro 10-Core CPU; 16GB Unified Memory; 512GB Solid State Drive for 1299. Definitely get an added 3-4 years on top of whatever use you'd get with these Best Buy 8GB macbook airs.
Might be out of the budget for some, but the specs should carry over for another 5-7 years for casual users.

You should have done an online return to avoid the hassle of in-store. I've used online return for software I didn't use. Edit; you were attempting to get it serviced my bad. Shame on BB for buying from a vendor that sold them fakes and then not doing the right thing.
