Batman: Year 1, <--- Catwoman mini series that ties into Year 1.
The Killing Joke
A Death in the Family
Sword of Azrael mini series (Joe Quesada illustrates, the artwork is truly fantastic. The dude is now head honcho at Marvel comics wow!
The Dark Knight Returns
Also may be a good idea to keep Todd McFarlane's Spawn / Batman crossover near your porcelain throne (McFarlane was a top illustrator even before Joe Quesada!) Once todd got his toy company profitable he then gave up being an illustrator, similar to how George Lucas and James Cameron got lazy after Star Wars and Titanic and never made anything cutting edge after that)
So like I said keep that one off publication in the bathroom, you may need it to pass the time away, but even more likely is that you can run out of toilet paper when you least expect it So why not use the next best thing to toilet paper (spawn/batman that is)
You don't want to be up a creek without a paddle !!!

whoaaa, good call, just saved me $5.
It's an interesting story, but I feel that it's overhyped. For one thing, it's a bit too short.
As for the Kindle version, I remember some pages being upside down. Not a deal breaker, but it's annoying that they don't fix it
