Beat me to posting it haha. Always tempted to bite but the price keeps coming down! Chat with customer service for additional 10% off. Bringing down to 720 before tax

You would blow 50%-100%+ of your $800 budget on a receiver that could support this many Atmos channels, plus then you need all the speakers. Running wires into your ceiling for a "legit" Atmos setup is also a serious PITA, and in general, a massive HT setup just doesn't pass the WAF.

Sound bars have come a long way vs. the models that existed 10 years ago.

Don't think you'll see better than this without bundling. Have the 990B and continued impressed with it even 12+ months later. Have tried Sony HTA9, Ambeo, KEF LS50II and others. None have the entire package, ease of use, and truly immersive around, especially at this price!

Same with me. They keep saying they don't do price match on employee discounts. I would have to return and rebuy. Smells commission.
You have to tell them the non-epp price.

How? You have to give them your order number and they will see how much you paid.

What did you do? Just chat? And what did you say? I'm in the same boat!
Yep, just chat. I told them I purchased it when it was $899. Sent them screenshot of current price $800. Rep told it's eligible for price match and request raised. Got email confirmation within an hour.

But then they will see you didn't pay $899 + tax because of the coupon. I guess it depends who you get. Do you remember the selections you made for the chat? Maybe different department would help.

Is it worth to get this over the 910C for additional $300?
Depends on whether you are happy with the Q910c. The rear satellites on the Q990c are 4.0.2 (peak wattage 210w) where as the q910c are 2.0.0 (peak wattage of 120w). Also the soundbar & subwoofer on the Q990c are slightly better.

Alternatively, you can get the q900c ($450 after 10%off) which has the same soundbar & subwoofer as the Q990c without the rear satellites. Then addon the compatible rear satellites (SWA-9500S) for the q900c which are 2.0.2. They can be bought from bestbuy for $120 to make it a 9.1.4 system. So total cost would be $570+tax. Yeah it's not 11.1.4 but pretty close.

I was told over chat that price match can be done only within 15 days. I bought it for 899 last week of Aug, so didn't work for me..

I ordered on the 25th but it wasn't available for pick up for about 2 weeks. Picked it up from BB 8 days ago.
Finally, 4th chat and got price match refund request for $90 + tax.

Just fyi I have a $600 Vizio 5.1.4 atmos sound bar w/ wireless surround speakers and a typical 8 foot smooth ceiling and I've never EVER experience sound coming from above.

But they keep selling these, and people keep buying them and this is Samsung ,so it just my experience.

I regret my purchase, I rather have put speakers in the ceiling.
Oh yeah, wanted to respond to this earlier, because I mostly feel the same. I got the Vizio Elevate when it came out in 2021, because I was really hyped about Atmos, and it even made me think moving into my apartment at the time with low ceilings was a positive. It's better than nothing, as the sound effects are there, but it doesn't bounce off the ceiling the way it's hyped up to, and it's an irrelevant feature in a big room. Moved into a new apartment with ceilings 12-14 feet high with a big living room, maybe the Atmos on the Q990C is a bit more impactful, but I have incredibly low expectations that I'll ever notice it, and end game is still to build out a $4,000+ 9.1.4 system with Atmos speakers in the ceiling. This Q990C is a hell of a stopgap for $720 though.

Tried out the Q990C tonight, I didn't think it was much of an improvement over the Elevate listening to music and was confused as the subwoofer was almost nonexistent at default settings using the Youtube and Spotify app to the point I wasn't sure if it was connected. Then tried Avengers IW and ended up watching/listening for half an hour, blown away by the clarity and punch this has, and felt like a noticeable step up. I don't think the subwoofer can do what the Vizio Elevate can, but I also can't use that turned up very much in an apartment anyways, so I definitely prefer this Samsung so far.

I didn't notice SpaceFit Sound do anything, and Active Voice Amplifier does increase dialogue, but didn't think it sounded good overall. Going to swap bewteen Adaptive Sound and Surround modes for awhile to see which one I like, and maybe boost the Treble a couple notches.

I didn't have to do that. I asked them whether there were any additional discounts on the soundbar. They asked what price I saw and I told them the non-epp price. The csr created a cart with the soundbar with discount. I told them I would need some time to think about it. the cart is active for 72 hours or something. Regardless, you end the conversation with the csr. Then log into with the EPP pricing to get the additional discount.

Just getting started on home theater, is the Samsung 11.1.4 better than Sonos Arc SL sound bar with SL satellites w/subwoofer?

In terms of experience. Would appreciate any inputs.

Turn on bass enhancement in the advanced sound settings menu in smartthings instead of messing with the equalizer. Also, active voice amplifier only increases volume when there is external noise. You'll want to use voice enhancement option instead in the advanced sound settings menu.

Also, there is a channels setting in the device settings menu where you can increase the center channel & rear speakers for a more surround sound experience.

I tried turning off the 2.4g and 5g channels alternating between the two. Rebooting router.

I tried clearing app cache, readding soundbar, etc.

I tried factory resetting soundbar.

So far it just... keeps disconnecting.
I have the Q7CB (Q700B) and it disconnects from wifi at least once a day. Haven't figured out how to fix it but a workaround is to plug it into a smart power outlet and power cycle it once a day. It reconnects right after.

After owning Samsung fridge, washer and dryer jetbot and sound bars I have to say I'm not going to get another Samsung product. Too much disconnect from the SmartThings app. I keep getting no data issues with the speakers

Got chat rep to bring it down to $720. He created a special cart for me. I did have trouble where with my Samsung CC the 36 month finance changed to 12 month for no reason at checkout. Even when logged in it showed 36 month on the product page. Any one had that problem or know why ? I may call the finance line and see if they can change it.
