You would blow 50%-100%+ of your $800 budget on a receiver that could support this many Atmos channels, plus then you need all the speakers. Running wires into your ceiling for a "legit" Atmos setup is also a serious PITA, and in general, a massive HT setup just doesn't pass the WAF.

Sound bars have come a long way vs. the models that existed 10 years ago.

Don't think you'll see better than this without bundling. Have the 990B and continued impressed with it even 12+ months later. Have tried Sony HTA9, Ambeo, KEF LS50II and others. None have the entire package, ease of use, and truly immersive around, especially at this price!

99% of all the sound bar products out there are meant for small, enclosed rooms. Agree and I refuse to run those cheap tiny subs. Easy fix. Take out samsung driver and amplifier module. Get the russound adp 1.2 high level to low level adapter. Take the speaker wires that went to the samsung driver and hook it up to the adapter and then run rca subwoofer cable to the real subwoofer. This is how I run my 15 inch sub and it is amazing.

That definitely does not sound like an easy fix. However I am intrigued. Why don't you put up a tutorial video on how to do this.

They sold out of q990c I debated doing the q930c from woot $697 or the q900c from Samsung $500. I went with the Q900c with hopes of adding on the 9500s speakers later. Let me know your thoughts.

Those of you who signed up for MGM Perks 15+ years ago can get this for 800.00 also. MGM Perks was a discount program for those that worked from MGM and they never verified if you worked there. I just checked and nice was still active and showing the discount.

Ordering from the store is the correct way to get them for $120. Just go to customer service and ask an associate to order it for you. If they have them in stock it will also ring at $120 at the register. They will NOT adjust the online price and your stuck with return / re-buy which is complicated and very time consuming.

The JBL's sub is definitely more powerful, but I always felt it overpowered the rest of the system. It felt like they didn't belong together. The Samsung subwoofer feels more natural sounding and less like it's punching you in the face. The JBL also felt more concentrated to the area it was placed, whereas the Samsung fills the room with sound. I also live in an apartment, so I prefer to keep the sub lower insted of shaking the building (which both are easily capable of doing).
