Before anyone chimes in on a $100 Monoprice strat copy being as good, they're not unless you put $250 into it. But you'll always have a guitar that is worth $50 on the used market.

You can always sell this 2 years from now for what you paid for it or more.

This is a deal for a solid guitar. The quality and resale value make it great buy.

I've bought those Mono strats. Anyone who says they're on par with a MIM is full of shit. They're on par with a Squier Bullet at best. We get it, you're broke. Nothing wrong with that. But to try to preach this nonsense is absurd.

I keep getting reminded of the arugment I got with someone on here that there is a guitar glut right now and we're going to start seeing crazy deals on guitars. He said "PRICES WILL NEVER DROP!"

And here we are...

The prices do drop, usually to the same price as (x months ago) or at best, 2 years ago! The snap backs are weird though. Like they're increasing the non-sale prices.. but still having the sale prices.

Yes, you tune the heavy strings a little sharp, so when you're done tuning all the strings, the lower strings are pulled into tune. Either that, or you can block the trem (YouTube it) so the trem doesn't move.

When tuning with a floating trem, the trem moves when you tune, putting everything out of tune as you continue tightening the strings.
Thanks

I have both this model and the tele in lake placid. Great guitars. 1:1 I like the tele better. I bought a fender loaded pickguard with hot noiseless pickups for strat. $150 on sale. It went from good to amazing. The sound now matches the fit and form. I can't imagine an American being better in anyway other than the sticker on it

For those wondering what the difference is: The american professional II has the contoured neck heel and the ultra has a more contoured body too (making the neck heel even slimmer). There's also differences in pickups and neck shape sometimes (mostly not anything important - one would argue those are up to preference). The ultra also has a fancier bridge. I'm not going to say they're worth 2x-5x more... but yea...

The other thing with Fender guitars (and other brands) is it's hard to find the right parts/color combo. Like blue body, black pickguard/knobs/covers, HSS config, thin neck, etc. You usually end up either compromising or.. really you can get ANY guitar config you want as long as it's in diarrhea brown burst. vomit

Lake Placid Blue is one of my favorite colors on a Strat, but I hit my guitar limit this year and I enjoy my wife too much to go over limit LMAO

Just received mine. It has a pretty bad dent/crack on the back Frown I originally was going to order a replacement, but they wait till they receive the package, then do an inspection, then ship a replacement. I didn't want to wait too long so instead I just made a second order and will return the first one for a refund.

yes this is quite a good deal, considering that 15 years ago a mexican make strat was 400. and considering inflation, we can expect prices to have gone up more than 100-130 dollars, but then we got this player for a bit more than yesteryears strat. and, everything about this player line is superior to the old MIM strats

I've tried a LOT of guitars at this point. IMO these are the only models and only price where it makes sense to buy a new fender guitar. American series is comically overrated, custom shop is absurdly priced, and I personally really didn't like the Player Plus. If you want a nicer Fender, get it used. You'll get a better deal, and usually a better guitar.

If you want a Fender, you want a Fender. You're probably not in the market for the best value per dollar. Not hating on Fender, I have 3 right now. Most of their products are just wildly overpriced. This is a good guitar for a reasonable price, and one of the few models I've hung onto. My other 2 Fender models are Road Worn MIM, and they are truly something else, but you can't get those anymore.
no that's not true. the indonesian made deluxe squiers are an excellent choice. in years past have been equal or better than the MIM, but I don't believe that's the case now, bc fender decided to up the price on MIM but also upgrade the quality beyond what it had been in the past. beast fender for the money is either squier dlxe or fender player's it's hard to say these days
