Do you have a link Mr. $5?
These would be great for hurricane season since I have so many Dewalt batterries always fully charged, but I just can't justify it even with this sales price.

I have been looking at this since the last SD post. Anyone with rl experience with this, is this a must have or can do without. And how is this price?

I really want one of these but for $70 I can't justify basically a glorified cell phone charger

Grabbed one when they first came out for $99. It's certainly been useful on the rare occasion of charging a laptop in the car or outside. Very convenient to keep batteries charged via USB C. If you're already invested in the Dewalt ecosystem it's certainly useful but not necessary. I primarily use it with a 9AH flexvolt.

You missed the fact that this is also a charger thru the usb-c port. If you have solar panels there is an adapter to plug into the usb-c port during a power outage

Contemplated buying one of these on the first slick deal for 70 bucks. I purchased it and it's amazingly convenient. I have a 60 volt blower and a fan that I run batteries off with. Not having to run back and forth to the garage Charger is pretty convenient and this thing charges like a quick charger. While also having the ability to use batteries to charge your cell phone is convenient too. With the amount of electronics we have, it's kind of nice not needing to be plugged into a wall sometimes.. I actually use this more than the regular dock charger now.. useful tool that you don't need but will use more than you thought..

for $70 you can get a really nice portable power bank. this is stupid. it should be $25 maximum.

i got something like this on amazon made by 3rd party for $5. let me repeat that. FIVE DOLLARS. and it has two USB ports and it works fine. charges my 65W laptop, iphone, etc.

also, the 100W PD rated output assumes you are attaching this to a beefy flexvolt battery. you're not getting 100W out of your 4/5ah batteries

Being able to swap batteries makes this enormously better than a typical power bank. Once power bank is discharged, you're out of luck until it can be charged. You can use this continuously provided you have enough batteries. Big plus being able to use it to charge a dewalt battery in the car or from a solar panel.
I agree this thing is way overpriced, but I'm not plugging a 1000+ dollar phone into a five dollar, no name China charger. Will it fry your phone or deep discharge your expensive dewalt battery?

20v * 5a = 100w (obviously there's conversion loss but it's not a ton) an old 3ah double stack has 2 x 5 cells rated at 30a discharge, EG the pack should be able to do close to 60a or 1200w. So yeah, you'll get 100w out of frankly probably any battery dewalt makes.

This thing is cool but still too rich for my blood, I like that it's PD capable into "laptop charging" territory. Wish they'd sell just the battery clip part for about 30 and I'd be all over it.

I also bought one of these when I saw the $70 deal a month or so ago. I do still think it is a bit expensive, but I like it much better than the cheap aftermarket, ones out there. As this one is two way - It does charge the Dewalt batteries fast which the majority of the after markets do not do and provides much more power out than the ones I have looked at.

I do have an aftermarket one with a 200W Power Inverter with 2 USB Ports and a LED Light. Its USB-A ports only put out ~15 watts and do not support many charging protocols so items charge slowly. With the modified sine wave inverter it was ~$35 on Amazon, but I prefer the DCB094K.

Like others had said, I wish the price was much lower and it did not come with the Dewalt Wall Adapter as is is only 65 watts and most people already have one. But overall I have been pleased with this purchase and have been using it as my main charger for my Dewalt batteries and have used it to charge my drones, etc. on the go.

search amazon. it's not hard. i bought a 2 pack for $12 with tax. there are like 100 listings for these.

no, you will not. i tried it! i had this unit before i returned it. your explanation only works on paper. the voltage on these batteries drops as the load increases. the voltage of the smaller packs, like the 2ah, drops as low as 14V on a high load. the 5ah XR goes down to about 16-17V. that voltage drop is the ENTIRE reason why the $200+ 5ah powerstack exists, as well as the new milwaukee forge line of overpriced batteries.

the only you will ever get 20V out of any dewalt battery is if you fully charge it and probe it with a multimeter. but as soon as you add a load, the voltage drops.

to get 100W out of these is to strap this thing to a 9ah, 12ah or 15ah flexvolt. then yea, you get 100W. 6ah flexvolt won't give you 100W either, btw. that battery's output voltage caves pretty quickly.
The shutoff voltage of these packs is 15.3v. In which case you need 6.5 amps of discharge current, again well within the reach of basically any pack dewalt currently produces. Given the 2ah rating of the cheap kit pack (whcih no one has ever disputed) it should be able to last 20 minutes before reaching said shutoff voltage when powering a 100w load.

This also allows you to charge your Dewalt batteries and in a form factor that much better for a go bag.
