best buy gift card (got this last year) +$200
total == $952
%5 back chase freedom via paypal -$48
iphone 12 trade in -$550

This way, I get the pixel 8 pro + pixel watch 2 for $80. I'm hoping to get $1k between them, $750 for pixel 8p, $250 for the watch. Worst case I'm thinking I'll get $800 ($600 for phone, $200 for watch). I'm taking a bit of a risk that I can get the higher side of of that. Either way, that's a better valuation than the $580 trade value through apple. Local value for my iPhone is between $600-$650. We'll see if the risk is worth it. I also like that the trade in is in person with Best Buy.

I know it's not directly accurate for everyone doing this trade but for my case it makes sense to me. (Especially since new phones are easier to sell than used imo) so it does make sense for some

It made sense because I needed to re-up my data plan and the sale bundle had a 6 month bonus, but I wouldn't try flipping a new Pixel with the idea of recouping more than trade in value + bonus. Folks thinking they'll get $200 for Pixel Watch are dreaming. I'd say they'll clear $1-150 at best for the watch and $5-650 for the watch and phone together.

Pixels have a bad reputation of being buggy for the first year. Google doesn't care. It is not their core business
