I own this monitor - highly recommended. Only knock was that my powerbrick went out relatively fast - but easy fix.

I own this one as well - absolutely love it. Right now playing Diablo IV, Starfield and CoD - games look great esp. paired with a beefy card.

As for WFH - also love it. I do a lot of coding so the extra real estate to have side by side windows is awesome.
Just want to piggyback on this comment to echo the same sentiments. This thing is a beast for both gaming as well as coding. I run it using a 3080. Starfield looks especially great with the wide aspect ratio.

How's the text clarity on it?

I mean it's great, it's an IPS panel. Text clarity is why I didn't go with the Alienware OLED.

depending on how close you are sitting. you need to sit further away.
You literally just said "above 27 needs 4k". This isn't above 27 in the terms you are speaking of. The 27" you're talking about is the 16:9 number. That's its equivalent. The dpi is the same no matter how close you are sitting. However close you would sit to a 27" 1440p monitor, it's the same dpi here.
