Still grossly overpriced and can't be used on anything but Xbox
$89-$90 is my target for this and I would buy it.

Sony used to be the one who used proprietary storage. They learned their lesson and Microsoft clearly has not.
Yeah, it's overpriced for what it is.
Yeah, it sucks.
Yeah, I bought one because this is the lowest I've seen the 1TB and more storage is an absolute necessity for getting the most out of Game Pass Ultimate on a Xbox S.

this is why the S doesnt sell and is a terrible idea. Now you spent more than just buying the X in the first place. or almost as much.
With the amount that is taken by OS and other garbage it really isn't that bad at least as a long term thing. This is at least a step in the right direction, sure its still too much but much better. The s sells fine, it is an emulation king.

Except, Xbox Series S is still outselling the Xbox Series X which continues the trend here proving you wrong. The fact that consoles increases sales the generation goes on, and the price drops should raise all sorts of flags for you.

It's an isolated case that you're cherry picking. The switch lite sold way less than each more expensive model. The 3DS og sold less than the more expansive XL models. And why? Bc those models were available shortly after launch and along side of the. Throughout the life cycle.

It also depends on the price difference. If the price difference is $50 there will be a much closer sales ratio than if it is $250.

It's almost like ... Context matters 🤔🤔🤔

Nobody said context doesn't matter. However, your examples are all of handhelds. That said, I'm pretty sure the Switch sales more than the Switch OLED.

As I said, it's pretty consistent across not consoles, but also against products. Cheaper products "tend" to sell significantly better and the only way around that is if the higher cost one has significantly higher value.

That's rarely the case. Furthermore, the sales ratio obviously will be closer between products more similar in price. That's a given... That has nothing to do with our discussion.

In fact, I don't even know why we have a discussion about products at lower price tend to sell better than higher priced one. It's almost a given, and why companies will offer sales to entice sales.

Western Digital is also selling at this price point, I was able to get my recently purchase WD C50 price matched. I used a coupon to get it down to $135. On the price match, they got it to $125, the coupon doesn't stack.

Got it for 105 from newegg on tik tok today.

No, I bought refurb S a year ago. I'm at 2/3 an X and have 1.5TB storage. It's still a bargain.

It's still safe to say that you gave the manufacturers more gross margin dollars than you would have if you bought an X.

I agree you can simply buy a normal storage device and just transfer over your Xbox series s/x games back over to your console when you wanna play em.

That could take even longer than deleting and redownloading depending on internet vs drive speed. Doesn't really solve anything

Sorry not trying to disrespect Xbox fanboys, but this is why I stayed on the PS side (I have both but barely use the Xbox), how hard is to think for a less pricy solution, I know Xbox can do better

I'm a gamer and Xbox, hands down, offers the best value in gaming. Sony nickel and dimes it's customers, and the Sony Simps just eat it up. Just ask Jim Ryan. Besides, my PS5 gets no burn in my home. Which means come the impending PS6, I won't be investing into their ecosystem anymore.
