Kasa requires neutral wire, this doesn't

Great deal, but Kasa would have comparable for likely half of this. Kasa is extremely reputable for a fraction so just double check before buying.

wish they had an option without the smart bridge/hub. I already have the bridge and looking to add more switches.

Do these have the lag that kassa switches have?
I have both Lutron Casetas and TP-Link Kasas - neither of them lag.

kasas have a 1 or 2 second lag. They all do.

I plan to set up homeAssistant eventually, I could use this with homeAssistant?
Yup. I have it working just fine. There is a better version of the bridge that will give more functionality for the remotes but I have not missed not having that

I know people like to talk about Lutron being the best, no neutral, etc. Keep in mind that dimmers with neutral wires often have better compatibility. I tried these and they just don't work with my fixtures/bulbs. Brand new house, just built. I wish I could get some ELV zwave dimmers or something. I tried out some zooz dimmers and they worked much better than the caseta dimmers, but still had a little flickering and buzzing when dimmed. At least now I can run the light at 100% with no issues. The Lutron dimmers wouldn't run a light at any level without flicker at triple the price.

WHY ARE LIGHT SWITCHES SO COMPLICATED! It's unreal that you need a compatibility chart between light switches and light bulbs. I've got home assistant on a Pi, a NAS, a mini PC, an overclocked gaming PC, streaming videos to TVs in ever room, but I'm fighting with light bulbs...
I'm probably bias, but I blame residential LED bulb manufacturers rather the dimmer manufactures making this so complicated. Most, if not all, high voltage dimmers for residential retrofits are some sort of triac dimmers, which basically "cuts" the AC current coming in super fast to control the amount of current going into the bulb. This works perfectly when bulbs were incandescent when you are just essentially heating up a piece of metal. In fact, if you record the bulb with a high speed video cam, you will see the flickering, it is just not perceivable with the naked eye.

So when LED's first started to become mainstream, it started off mad expensive. So it became a race to the bottom. Manufacturers start to cut corners, and one of the first corner they cut = dimming compatibility. LED's at its core is an electronic device. Probably an extreme comparison, but imagine trying to dim your PC. Not pretty. As a dimmer manufacturer who is limited to only being able to work with high voltage wires, there really isn't much they can do. To make things worse, since the manufacturing overhead to enter the market to build a LED bulb is way easier than a incandescent bulb, way more manufacturing brands popped out of no where, just search Amazon. So that further fragmented the dimming compatibility with no standard/oversight.....

I agree with this and to reiterate the other conment, the only real advantage is theres no need for neutral wire for lutron.

My experience because I have both is that I can also see that lutron will not bog down your router with traffic from possibly tens of devices. Lutron has it's own base that the devices connect to.

As far as reliability in response I've seen better performance with Kasa actually. I have home assistant setup with automation and consistently lutron will miss calls to action. Could be bad support but for my use case I'm tempted to remove the lutron because of this issue because of how consistent the issue is. It does look cleaner but maybe that's the premium price talking.

I would highly recommend if you have a neutral wire and only plan on installing a couple switches to use Kasa. I currently am using Kasa and have multiple switches (dimmers and regular) and plug switches and bulbs connected (14 total devices) and I have no issues but I had to play around with my router setup to manage all the devices I have on my network. (Fyi I have a lot more other manufacturer equipment on my network as well)
This sounds like an issue with your home assistant setup. I have had zero issues with Lutron. My kasa switches give me a lot more trouble of randomly disconnecting.

Missed the $129 deal but this one still available for $148 as a Prime Big Deal:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00XPW6824

Same product P-BDG-PKG2W (without the -A at the end). Searches show that there's no difference between the -A and this one. Same bundle.

Got mine with an Amex 40% off offer (using 1 MR point), so it was a great deal.

Looks like the deal you linked includes the pedestals for the Pico remotes.
