Received my LTD H1001FR.

The high string side of the neck pickup has the screw popped out. Probably needs a dowel to fix the stripped body hole. But even worse, the SN indicates it was built in 2019. My issue with that is they did not use stainless frets at the time but the newer ones do. This guitar is going back.

Oof, it was the older H1001FR? That blows, sorry I gave you the wrong info. They should've listed it as new old stock or something. Shame about the stripped screw hole as well.

You could chance an exchange with ESP's warranty [espguitars.com] if you want though. You might get lucky and they exchange it with a post-2020 spec.

It's always worth calling ahead of time before ordering a restock item to ask the condition of the item. Sam Ash's website is strange though. I asked a rep about that particular SKU and he said that there's actually a mix of brand new and returned stock under it, and he could place an order for the brand new item in factory box if asked. He'd also be able to do the 15% off without any fillers or whatever.

I could give you his details if you want, but yeah. Looks like you got the short end of the stick unfortunately.
