Copy and pasting my comment from a previous thread of this since it contained a lot of information and would be a task to retype, hopefully this is useful to some of you (I ended up keeping it):

I bought this laptop on the previous open box deal and here is my experience with it:

A) It has a slight grainy look due to the digitizer (touch) layer that is noticeable if you look for it on white and gray backgrounds. Normal use you probably wouldn't notice it.
B) Runs warm since it's a 13700h..
C) Battery life is around 6-10 hours depending on use maybe less.
D) Cinebench r23 multi 10min is around 11-13k plugged in.
E) Both USB-C ports are thunderbolt and can charge the computer (both on right side, would have preferred the left side, but it's minor con).
F) League of Legends got around 110-130fps (set in game to 1080p I believe), and of course expect the fans to get loud though.

It's all around a GREAT laptop, but I'm on the fence about returning it due to the grainy effect alone. It's a known issue with OLED touch screens for Asus (at least that i know of).

I had tried the previous gen 1240p Zenbook 14x OLED non-touch and can confirm that it did not have the grainy look.

Most people don't seem to notice or have an issue with it otherwise it'd be mentioned more. However, it might also explain the amount of open boxes there were.

EDIT: Just want to add that this review of the 14x "Space Edition" mentions the graininess of the screen due to the digitizer:

EDIT#2 8/21/23: Regarding Open Box Warranty

After talking with two Best Buy reps on the phone and one ASUS rep here's what they told me:

A)
Best Buy by default gives a 1 year warranty to all open box items which covers everything the manufacturer warranty does.
If it does have an active manufacturer warranty, you'll have to go through the manufacturer first and if it "times" out first then Best Buy will cover it until the 1 year period.

Best buy reps then confirmed that they saw my open box Zenbook in the system being covered for 1 year by Best Buy.

B)
ASUS USA rep confirmed with me that any open-box ASUS laptop purchased from Best Buy only will have only a 90 day warranty from ASUS regardless of what date the MyAsus App tells you.

I would encourage anyone who's worried to double check their Best Buy warranty status with a CS agent and get a reference# or Case ID# in the event something happens.

I picked this up for $700 a few months ago, and it is one of the best purchases I've ever made. It outperforms even "premium" laptops like the Dell XPS and absolutely eviscerates Inspirons by comparison.

You get an OLED display, H-series processor, and great battery life (for a Windows machine).

There is simply no better bang for your buck, and I highly recommend this laptop.

For the usage that you stated you can't go wrong with this laptop. However, you definitely will get better battery life out of the MacBook Air but arguably a better screen on this unit. Is that worth $200 difference when the MacBook is actually on sale for $899? That's your dilemma
Thanks, I actually already ordered the MBA before seeing this and now I'm kinda feeling like this would be a better fit for me.

Absolutely phenomenal laptop for the price. I've had mine for about two months. Performance is great with an EGPU. The previous person that mentioned the touchscreen can be a little grainy is correct, but I don't find it to be extraordinarily distracting. Build quality is very nice.

What's the draw with these? I'm pretty uninformed these days. Seems the entry level laptops are closer to $500. This one has OLED and a new processor. Do everyday users need that for normal everyday use (Ms word, chrome browsing, YouTube).

How's the battery life on this? I can't imagine it's great with that CPU and an OLED.
I have another asus and with the oled the battery life is kinda bad. But the computer otherwise is a winner

really wish they sold this without the touchscreen.. such a worthless feature, esp on windows. it's not like it's wacom tech or something. dropping another 100 for non touch and then also the benefits of the grainy display being avoided would be amazing.

I have the AMD version that i bought from walmart a week ago. Lots to like. With the oled display colors pop. It's light, keyboard has good size keys making typing easy. With light use I think it's 8 hrs but its supposed to less w intel. But, as i posted in another thread about this laptop, with certain backgrounds especially white, the grainy look started to bother me to point I'll probably return for a non touchscreen oled laptop. Saw zenbook 15 for like $950 which is obviously a lot more but if its nontouch screen it maybe worth it for me. Others may not be bothered at all by the screen

It's funny how many people are on every other laptop thread complaining about lack of touchscreen

Three questions if someone can help me:
1. I am assuming the screen is glossy and reflective, instead of the matte type?
2. Are the speakers too weak? I've had some Zenbooks before, all of them had very low volume.
3. Is the microphone good enough for Teams/Zoom calls?
Thank you in advance.

Specs wise, the Zenbook at this price is a better value than the M1 Air. It's got a nicer 2.8K OLED Touchscreen, 8GB more memory (although this isn't an apples-to-apples comparison with M1's unified memory architecture), and 256GB more storage than the base model M1 Air.

On the other hand, the M1 Air offers much longer battery life, very little heat output, no noise output, is 20% less weight, has Touch ID, and if you're already an iPhone user, having iMessage and Facetime is super useful.

Either will meet your need. It's a matter of personal preference and weighing the pros and cons based on your intended usage.
