Grab these now and think later.

A quick search on Amazon returns nothing in this price range.

It's a shame the 24" isn't also on sale, but there are plenty of narrow extensions to get you the rest of the way.

EDIT: Their 16" spade bits and 12" extension are on sale too. Looks like the spade goes up to 1/2" if you need it.

No. For that, search for "bellhanger drill bit".

Keep in mind, most of the sizes are going to be for low voltage wire, since it's more common to run conduit on brick.

Maybe once, then you'd have to throw it away if it even got deep enough. You need a masonry bit and a hammer drill to not have it be a terrible experience.

You can use it to bore extra deep holes in wood (taking lots of breaks so as to not burn out the bit), but the main use is to route wire through studs without having to make large access cutouts in the drywall.

For example, say you wanted to add a second switch to an existing cutout location.
