- XM5: acceptable sound, excellent anc, 30 hour battery life, infamous build quality (as with the 4's, the plastic hinges are known to snap and are not covered by the Sony warranty)
- QC Ultra: acceptable sound, excellent anc, 24 hour battery life, metal hinges so presumably good build quality
If you're not putting them through their paces you might get your money's worth from the 5's, particularly at $160-$185 used. That said, you'd probably be best off going for the Ultra's-if only because they are significantly smaller when stored in the case.
