I have this and the gas piston was done after 6 months. Head rest is flimsy and lumbar is not very good. I'm only buying chairs after I try them
In person from now on.

i'm price tracking a lot of these for myself.

I would recommend checking out Staples or local office furniture stores and buying something there after trying it. Or even just use that to try out chairs then buy locally on Facebook marketplace, eBay, etc. Steelcase Amia for instance can be had for $100-$300 second hand.

These are great, full mesh are so much better, your farts filter through the mesh and dont stink it up like other chairs with a cushion. lol
They definitely still stink it up. Pro tip: Use an old t-shirt or towel to pre-filter, so you can wash it.

I'm sitting on a Staples Hyken right now and I absolutely hate it. Probably the worst chair I've ever sat on. Bought it with reward points and can't even return the damn thing.
I agree, it's a pretty bad chair. I don't get why it gets mentioned so much on this site. The ergonomics are completely off. The armrests' lowest setting is too high for how low the headrest is. It's not meant for anyone 5'8" or below, which is something that gets parroted here likely by people who aren't 5'8" and below. Maybe more like it's meant for 5'2" and below (/s), but then the height of the armrest becomes an issue, along with possible foot dangle. Not to mention, overall height isn't a good proxy measurement since people can have vastly longer or shorter torsos, with accompanying shorter or longer legs, and still be the same overall height. But this isn't even the worst part.

The worst is that the headrest is positioned in the worst way possible - pushed in, so that it's impossible to sit up straight on the chair while still using the back of the chair, else it pushes your head forward, tilting it down, or digs into your neck/shoulder. The headrest's angle and positioning only makes sense if you slouch and tilt back completely on the chair as far as it will go, or if you scoot your butt all the way forward and then slouch, and only then, the position of the headrest actually resembles supporting your head. At that point though, you might as well just slouch on a chair with actual good ergonomics that lets you sit up straight.

Has anyone tried this? Seems to check all the boxes for me.
Reading the reviews on the Monoprice web site I would be a hard pass

Staples is great. Unsure how this compares to it. With a warranty tho maybe as good but a lot less price! One I've used looks same. Sounds same. And once you figure out all the settings it's very comfy. ESP w lower back compression fx history and no prob using it at all.

Monoprice quality is mediocre. Not sure why people on here think they make good quality stuff

I purchased this chair about 2-3 months ago and really like it. The chair is surprisingly well made and the mesh material is soft, but durable. I'm in the chair for hours a day and it's very comfortable and reclines and adjust easily. The headrest provides good neck support upright or reclining positions. I'm really happy with it and use it for gaming in my office, too. It's interesting some don't like it. I have zero complaints and it's holding up well.

This was my experience with Mesh Chairs. In 2021 I bought Staple's Union & Scale™ FlexFit™ Dexley Ergonomic Mesh Swivel Task Chair. I loved it. I'm 6'0 and at that time I was 200 lbs (chair's Maximum Weight Recommendation is 275). I work a desk job for about 8 hours a day. After 2 months I noticed the mesh was getting loose. By month 3 it had torn. These chairs are useless after the mesh goes. Its like sitting on bars.
These prices are tempting but sometimes you're better off investing in quality.

They will send you a new seat pan under warranty, it's like a 7 year warranty.

That would be a big no for me because it would take me months to work up the motivation to disassemble and reassemble the chair again.

Damn, I could use one of these especially in the summer when having to deal w/ the heat generated from faux leather seats.
